  1. wowsers. really looks good
  2. is it a diecast? looks like an R/C, so i guess not. You might want to photo as you go, show it getting repainted.
  3. They are a bunch of drama queens, same as American Chopper. add to that, they are southern rednecks and you see the formula for the show. next week: southern redneck gator fighting. For those who like the Car stuff and less of the Drama, try the british show "Wheeler Dealers". it's more of a documentary than 90210. Question for the modelers. with the popularity of AC, why aren't bikes very popular in scale?
  4. ah, the "Monty Burns" mantra. "i'd trade it all for a little more"
  5. No, but i do keep an old laptop on my work bench. handy if i need to look up some references.
  6. i take it you've never been married? it will. mnwildpunk, you will need some stress relief at some point, so keep your modelling tools handy.
  7. The replacement show will be 'Cajun Gator Wrestling' or something even more stupid
  8. Actually it was Vinny and Rick who did the REAL work
  9. wow, Diffey is australian. he's certainly gone a long way! it's the bane of all motorsports, not just F1.
  10. although he won't out and out lie, he's often incorrectly credited with creating some designs. He was commissioned to build a Knight Rider replica and suddenly he's the 'creator' of the KITT! (which is not correct)
  11. oh, i'm so glad i live in Australia. apart from bushfires (which we can fight) we don't have any of those extreme natural events (only the odd cyclone up north), i think we've only had two earthquakes in the last decade.
  12. nice build, and nice story too.
  13. nice build. i particularly like the shiney orange paint. i'm tempted to go back and redo the front fender on my one, try and make it more factory looking.
  14. That's different, and well done. sizzling color
  15. wow, thats a nice deep purple. and that interior is crazy. should look nice all together.
  16. i found their 3D model prep document of interest http://www.moddler.com/uploads/Moddler%20Model%20Prep%2001.02.pdf
  17. Such was my TDR eleanor body, it had the texture of wood.! some interesting links Do your own 3D and get it printed: http://cubify.com/ Article: 3D printers getting cheap enough for home use: http://www.theaustra...f-1226383853583 (AUD$985 + $195 for Rhino Software) edit: $60 for a filament cartridge. i wonder how many models per cartridge? You will be able to buy 3D files online to get printed, eg http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13918 If you're really cheap, you can build your own http://www.fabathome.org/?q=node/10
  18. very nice Oh! my!
  19. Dipped in toxic acid Nice transam. i quite like this year model due to liking Knight Rider. It was such a futuristic design when it came out (which was why i hated the "retro" mustang being Knight Rider)
  20. That's a weird version of the Deora. nice pick up gtx6970. it's not enough to exist, i want to LIVE!
  21. 1. What is a model kit? a scale representation of something that is disassembled (if it's built, it's no longer a 'kit') 2. What activities (e.g. painting, sanding, burnishing) do you associate with modelling? sanding, putty, paint, assembly, polishing. 3. Do you follow instructions when building a model? yes 4. How skilled are you at modelling? pretty good 5. What are kit conversions? Have you ever done a kit conversion? changes the way the model was originally intended. an alternate label is 'Trans-kit' 6. What is kitbashing? Have you ever kitbashed? combining parts from other kits to correct or alter the build. 7. What is the object of model-making? What is the end product? the objective is to make a scale representation of a full-sized object. my aim is to make something recognisable to the viewer (it's not enough to simply build it to pass the time).
  22. worst car i ever owned was a Subaru Leone. not only hideously ugly (seriously a 59 Dodge is less disgusting) it had constant problems with the CV joints, oil leaking, fires, rust. http://aussiemuscle.totalnfs.net/kevcars/subaru_leone_2563.jpg to be fair, ferrari don't have a spotless record. some of their forays into "econony" cars are so bad they're not even considered part of the family (disowned despite the ferrari badge). eg four banger Dino.
  23. i agree, they didn't need to buy them licenses for those movies. i only hope it brings some more people into modeling. I don't expect to see a lot of 'new tooling' until the (USA) economy is out of the crapper. however the sci-fi crowd are not any better catered for. in fact, i'd say they get the worst coverage of subjects compared to what auto has received in the past few decades. This is the first time Round 2 has released new star trek kits since polar lights offered Enterprise from the series 'Enterprise'. Revell did a few Star Wars kits, but that's all in a long time. The difference is they havea much better garage-kit scene. Revell's venture into Babylon5 and Galactica haven't been runaway successes.
  24. This was fun to look at, so i hope you had a good time building it. i like how you popped up the suspension to look like the motor's weight is gone. the welded panel is a nice touch too.
