  1. I used the kit bullbar, it just needed to have the bars moved around. I printed the Little Mule door decal myself (basically print it on white decal paper, you basically print black around the edges), the bronco badge is from the kit's decal sheet and the front FORD oval is from a racing car decal sheet stuck onto a styrene oval, as is the goodyear decal. I added a middle seat, but it looks like it should be a bench seat. The jerry can comes in two parts, so i used the two halves to look like two same sized cans (they just a bit thin). Sidepipes i got from a cobra. i've yet to put spare wheels on. Pictures and thread here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=57652&hl=
  2. you'll want to remove the bronco 'horse' badge from the fenders (and the word 'bronco' too if you prefer to use the decal) and also the F O R D badge from the leading edge of the hood. if you cut up the bullbar, you can change it to be more correct. Mine is coming along nicely....
  3. just give the decals a thin wash of acrylic matt black, you can darken them down until they match the movie car. thats what i did.
  4. nice work, now go build a real one (one advantage models have over real cars... we can do ANYTHING!)
  5. superb model and even better that it's scratchbuilt. yeah, we normally think of the 50s as trying to look like aircraft or rockets, but that is very aircraft inspired.
  6. very nice torino. looks good. back off a bit to let the camera focus. if you have a macro mode (flower icon) it'll work even better.
  7. Wow, that's some work. have a look at my disassembly of fiat panda that may give you some ideas. http://www.thepartsbox.com/BB/viewtopic.php?f=251&t=3506
  8. looks really good. The alignment looks right on. you might be able to thin the edge of the trunk to make it look better.
  9. i agree, it looks like a nice model, but the photos are blurry. things to keep in mind are 1. more light (will help the camera) 2. move back to allow the camera to focus on the subject (you may want to crop the picture afterwards).
  10. i found this guy sells a decal sheet if you don't want to print your own http://www.blue-oval-resinworks.com/starsky__hutch_torino_stripe_kit
  11. doesn't the torino come with a nice 351 anyway?
  12. Looking good Martinfan5. i've been following your build to see the corrections for Ecto 1. mean. it needs a story to go with it, like the GB's being sucked through a portal. (you could show this by having a portal in the back ground). http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Na4deEGFcwE/T0mYmxzt18I/AAAAAAAABqI/rqzjUwQtre0/s1600/portal.jpg
  13. Thepartsbox has a nice 1/25 scale tractor. it's pretty generic, so you could easily detail it up as a massie or ford or whatever. it was a fun build, with minimal parts and a lot of scope to add details. i added lights and foot controls.
  14. The CG picture looks to be too tall/narrow for one thing.
  15. i got a template off a guy from the scale auto forum who used it to stripe his own model. if i think of it, i'll arrange to get it to you. (PDF).
  16. Revell have these cars as a stock cars twin pack (two models) but the fenders are flared and the wheel arches are huge and a full nascar interior. Rooly hard to make factory. i bought a resin body for a Mark V linc, but it's pretty cludgey and slush cast. I just need to procure a chassis/engine for it.
  17. Nice to see one of these built up. You might be able to get things lower if you cut the nubs off the chassis and glue them back on higher. Also a lot of the FJs switched to wider tires for racing, which might give it some attitude.
  18. i use the supplied USB cable and Windows Image Transfer. WIT comes with windows, so it's free and comes up automatically when camera plugged in.
  19. My favourite box. it's the only box i display along with the model
  20. I don't see it. maybe you can help out? http://www.imcdb.org/movie.php?id=47739
  21. i guess the cheap cameras are being smashed by in-phone cameras, so they might disappear in the next few years, leaving only the high-end dedicated cameras. They might do HD video as well.
  22. @08seal. it's too cold to build or paint here, so it goes both ways. we got a massive 50° (10C) last weekend.
  23. i got photoshop elements bundled with some hardware i bought. it's great for resizing pictures (it has a 'save for web' option, that lets me resize and compress (ie jpg quality) that makes it easy)
