  1. This is one "Hollywood" truck that probably gets forgotten about. Nice build.
  2. The paintjob looks really nice.
  3. I would say white spokes and grey(Model Master Neutral grey might be a good choice) or white for the rims/spacer rings.
  4. That was also an option from Freightliner(late 70s/80s).
  5. I was going to bid on that truck, but then put it off until it was too late I think I was trying to see if I could find some of the chrome items specific for this kit and that's why I waited to bid. Everything I would strip on that kit was already stripped or at least almost there. It would've made cleaning it a quick process. I wish Ertl didn't chrome such items as spoke wheels or 5th wheels. The stacks can be redone with the right "aluminum" spray and the air cleaner pipe I would paint any way.
  6. Generally they are not lined. Usually just bare metal inside. Some drivers line them with carpet scraps, or cheap mud flaps.
  7. On my trucks, the frame mounted boxes held tools, as well as spare parts and my extra fluid bottles. I had a box that sat between the frame rails just above the driveshaft. It was just 10 inches deep. This replaced the deck plate behind the sleeper I kept things like bungee straps, OVERSIZE LOAD signs, flags, and other miscellaneous items In that box. When I had my flatbeds, there was a 5 foot long box between the axles on each side. Those stored my tarps, straps, my winch bar, and all my flat bed equipment except chains and binders. Chains and binders were stored in my headache rack. On my 379s, the storage box below the passenger door held my snow chains.
  8. You put a lot of work into that hood and it came out looking nice.
  9. I look forward to the progress on this one.
  10. That's a nice truck. I can't wait to see your build of it.
  11. Incredible workmanship and detail on this build. You went above and beyond. Nice choice for the paintjob.
  12. Oh, and, the modifications to the c.b. are a really nice touch. They add a lot to the appearance of the interior.
  13. Thanks for taking the time to post the pic and explanation. That helps me understand what you did. I have some more of these in my stash, so I will use this technique when I go to build my next AstroTitan.
  14. Nice work. I like the overall look of the truck.
  15. Outstanding. Great workmanship and detail all the way around.
  16. Nice build of a truck type that's rare:The cabover with the aftermarket sleeper.
