Need a Company name

Excellent! Can't wait to see the pictures. You do know I'll hold you to that. Just speaking of severe rust just gets me interested even more. And Thanks! -

Actually Nick, I read your claim of being a trucker on your Truckers Board. But that place has been edited with the delete key so much I’m not wasting time to see if it is there. And you can’t even remember what you think I was referring to. Taken in context, (which you failed to include) I still stand by my comments, yes my opinion. I notice you failed to address the issue of showing us any of the several real cars you claimed to have owned. Got another one, and it is half hearted…: Popcorn Towing Service! I know, it’s CORNY! -

OK… I have my popcorn and apron… Anyone else need to whip up some? I can wait… And now I will respond to some of the points much like young Nick does, ready? "is that your best half Assed attempt at a apology?" Nice Nick, back to mis-quoting me again I see. That is not what I said/wrote. But it is what many of us have come to expect from DukeFan. And to be fair/accurate, your apologies are at best a day late and a dollar short. You so far only offer them when you have been called out by enough people that you are trying to appease. Makes for a very watered down “apologyâ€, I can see you kicking the dirt with eyes averted as you offer it.... I think Mr. Taylor’s and Danno’s advice is something you should really consider. My comments were not meant as insults; think of them as entertaining responses to a question YOU asked. Again, this is a public forum, deal with it, well deal with it better. I still think Firebird Wrecking is my best offering… C’mon, call 1-800-Hour-Firebird? I may just have to build it… “Thats just uncalled for bashing.†Why? How? I fail to see the insult/bash. A 14 year old cannot legally operate a truck on the highway, yet you seem to infer that you are a trucker/operator and take offense accordingly. I do recall you stating you “owned†several vehicles. You now have an operational camera, how about showing us some of them to lend an air of legitimacy to those claims? Uh huh, I didn’t think so… “Around that time we had about 5-7 members were now at 27.†Uhhhmm, what time? No time was stated. Does that 27 include all the past members you banned or kicked off? Wow 27! To quote one of those members: Whoo Hoo! (Saskatoon…) “and of course Mark likes to bad mouth my building†Please provide an example Nick. Since when did stating a fact, (such as in the Emperor’s New Clothes), become bad mouthing? Am I not entitled to my opinions? And before anyone jumps down my throat about what level a 14 year old builds at, take a moment to recall the models I recently posted from when I was 12-14 years old. Nick begs for attention and he gets it. Positive helpful tips and comments are twisted by him into percieved negative attacks and he ramps up into tantrum mode. And he gets more attention. I’m just giving him what he craves… And we all get free entertainment. -

Too easy! Rocky’s Tow Service or Rockford Roadside Assistance, use a GMC platform. -
Any tutorial that clearly explains how to make a quality (especially a popular) part will be received well. Just do something you want, if others like it, great. (Build for yourself.) Wheels are a great choice to show everyone how to make from scratch. BTW, Wasn’t it you that was doing the Barracuda-Viper custom? Did I miss it finished? That had a lot of work in it last time I saw it.

Huh? Not familiar with that “termâ€. Am I to infer you did not appreciate my attempts at the helpful advice you requested in earlier threads? -

Wow, I can’t find the words… -
I gotta say, when I first saw it, I thought much along the lines of everyone else who does not care for the styling. Then I drove it. Holy Schmoly! It rips! After a fun romp, I got out and it looked 100% better. And as embarrassing as it is, I got beaten by a bone stock one in a drag race. What was I driving that makes it embarrassing? A Ferrari 355, and no, I was not sandbagging. The cool part is if you don’t like the nose, well, you can’t see the outside when you’re driving it, and you have the ability to hide the front from almost anyone by pushing the throttle harder. Those who know what my daily driver is might be surprised to know I’d definitely consider getting one of these little “eco-rocketsâ€. I’ve driven Miatas, and these are so much more fun and flat out faster. The only issue I have with it is the torque steer, but the rest of the package, Zoom-Zoom-Yes!

Yet you choose to respond with characters that may represent words you were told not to use. What is wrong with you? You have the right to remain silent; it seems you just lack the ability.

Some guys here can build show pieces in their sleep; others can't build a clean model to save their life. How many time must it be said: IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE HOW MUCH EFFORT YOU PUT INTO IT IF IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD, IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD. "I got to school for 6 hours, I come home and do 2 hours of homework, by this time it's dinner time, I have dinner, there's an hour sometimes more, I have a shower, I walk my dog for about and hour and a half, there's about 11 hours, On weekends, I rarely spend the whole day modelling" So how the heck did you spend those 800 hours on that Firebird? I see a huge disconnect between what you claim to invest in time/effort on you models, and your own stated impossibility to build for the amount of time. I am throwing the BS flag on your time invested claims. BTW, my "masterpiece" Blue 7 cost me $350.00 in materials over 31 months, modeling is not that expensive. At least for a scratch builder. "I have to sit in a hot sweaty, smelly classrom listening to a teacher tell us were all idiots" Well, the teacher does have credentials… and you are being an impudent little snot nosed 14 year old. My money is on the teacher for making a qualified judgment call. "Who cares when you started, don't give me this, I don't care if you had to walk 10 miles both ways to and from school, go back to the retirement home grandpa." What a disrespectful jerk you are being Nicky. There was absolutely no reason for that comment. You threw a hissy when I said you had a bad attitude before, and here you are throwing another childish tantrum. Somebody give this baby a bottle! You are having such a hard time in the adult world, maybe you should take a time out, sit in the corner until you learn some manners. It's one thing to build the way you do, it is entirely different to be an obnoxoius disrespectful blow hard. Used to be there was an age requirement on most boards, 18 years old. If there is one on this board I suggest it be enforced.

Twisted! I mean that in the best possible way!

Much as described by Mr. Taylor I see a reactive, defensive side to the help offered. And wonder why Nick is so resistant and indecorous to the efforts of so many here to help him improve. As if Nick thinks is already one of the better builders, but his work clearly does not back up the attitude and his parroted “historical knowledgeâ€, which when corrected is met with equally annoying responses (excuses). He may be the best young builder in Whitby, but not here by a long shot. There are many seasoned and accomplished builders here that are trying to help him improve his building. It is very rude for him to complain to the qualified builders who are trying to help and are honest about what everyone can see by justifying what he built as if it is to the level of quality he seems to think it is in his mind. Nick, maybe you should do some homework and find out who some of the guys who are trying to help are, what their credentials are before you dismiss them as “about as good as you†and further insult them. You obviously know how to collect info from the internet. Or are you already knowledgeable of these guys and is it a personality trait you are displaying? If you are content building to the level you are, fine. But don’t whine when you don’t get the responses you want. I know you say you are 14, but you also claimed to be a very mature 14, act like it and grow up. Part of that is accepting the constructive criticism you have asked for. Or continue doing what you do and get the responses you get, it is attention after all, I suspect that is what it is really all about for you… Otherwise why would you continue this way?

Again, gotta ask who made that kit? Starter? We need more 1/43rd here... Keep 'em coming!
-
Who makes that kit? Heller maybe? Very cool. I have a couple 1/43 Heller Pugs, but I was not aware of this little gem.
-
Trying to be constructive here Nick, like Whale. I think you missed or avoided the point he was making, quite well by my reading of it too. Detail cleanly what is provided by the kit. You say " there's really only 4 colors that were used". But in the real world, there are many more that should be used, even if you only see four at first glance. The physical difference between a stock Pontiac motor and a Pro Street Mopar motor is irrelevant in this point. The fair difference is the technique and attention to detail, that is the focus. That Mopar engine is a very good example of clean building. Also known as THE BASICS. You seem to have to defend every helpful tip and offer of guidance as if it will make what you posted any better. You are showing improvement, but you are also missing out on lot of points that could be of benefit. Improve the basics, and everything will improve.
-
I'll answer that when you answer all the questions I have asked you before over the last week or so, but you declined to respond to. I'm guessing because they were too difficult for you? Or was it you only wanted to pick and choose what to respond to so you would not look like you didn't know what you were talking about? Just take a look your your "trucks" thread before you blast back with another snide comment please. Or I can bring some of them up for you if you are unable...

Where did you get those "facts" Nick?

All Trans Ams are Firebirds, but not all Firebirds are Trans Ams. Same with Chevy. All Z/28s are Camaros, not all Camaros are Z/28s. Then again, some Z/28s aren’t really Z/28s either, there’s more Z/28s now than Chevy ever made…

I’m confused. “it took me 2 days to build†“Yeah it was 2 Days assembley 3 for paint, 1 for detail, and one to add the plates annd screw the chassis on†Does “One Day†equal 8 hours in this scenario? Three days for paint you say, does that count drying time? One Day to just screw on the chassis and add the plates? Honestly I don’t see 8 hours labor for those tasks. I’m starting to see how your math can add up to 800 hours in one model in your mind. I don’t agree with counting that way, but this does provide some perspective… But the shift from two days to build to seven days, that has me confused… This is an improvement from the Firebirds, keep up the effort.
