Hey folks,,here a a bizzare creature in styrene,,got this at a swap meet last year for 7$,,it was a glue blob in a ziplock bag,,1/2 built. Complete teardown,,striped all paint+ plating. And with only pics of it on the web,,I didnt have an instruction sheet ,,set out to rebuild. Used Truevalue red hardware store paint,,and same BLK for chassis. Hand painted everything else. It came with a bullit style fairing,,that as Steve Perry stated when we looked at it in the bag,,he found the fairing "disturbing" LOL ,,Steves awsome. And I agreed,,so Ididnt even use most if it,,I trimmed w/a dremmel all of it except the back 1/4 section of it,added gauge decals and,,it looks better ,,we can see that 350 twin honda motor better. Used steel blue duplicolor for spokes+rims+ exsaust. Had to use a different,,larger back tire. The kit supplied tire was a front tire profile,,it looked too small. So now..gonna Look for another kit to start for my social distancing edict.

Happy building all,,now that everybody,,or most of us have to stay in,,I think model building is a great "social distancing" tool,,just too bad all or most clubs shows + swap meets have to cancel,,bummer:( Oh well,,hopefully all this madness will blow over soon. Anyways,,heres a version of AMT's 59' Elcamino,,I used testors quikdry rattlecan,,and testors bottle hand paint the rest. Ive always liked 2 tone paint work,,and this kits lends itself quite well for that. I changed the top end of 409 mtr,,changed the rims+ tires,,and a bit of wiring,,not a contest car,,just a social distancing tool! LOL

Not sure if this will get the pics in,,but its AMT Kenworth 123 Cabover,,lets see if it loads pics,,,,ok it worked,,cool. Anyways,,now that our state has been shut down I ,,got back to building ect. This kit had alot of issues as far as fit + fitment, the hinge for tilt cab was really weak,,so I just made it a lift off style. and some other stuff,,,but overall it worked out ok. I used Testors spraycan enamel,,and valspar hardware paint for chassis,,hand painted everything else,,and since this is the 1st big rig Ive ever built,,I mostly do cars+bikes,,it was a neat experience to build a big rig. Keep on Truckin!
