  1. This time I was looking for one of these kei-jidōsha or light vehicle that are very common in Japan- Te kei category was created by the Japanese government in 1949, to stimulate both car ownership and growth of Japan's car industry. The regulations were revised multiple times until 1998, but since October 1998, the law consistently specifies a maximum vehicle length of 3.4 m (11.2 ft), width of 1.48 m (4.9 ft), height under 2.0 m (6.6 ft), and engine displacement under 660 cc (40.3 cu in). The horsepower is limited to 64hp by a "gentlemen's agreemment" between the manufactures and the goverment. The 1989 - 1993 Mitsubishi Minica Dangan ZZ had a turbo DOHC 5 valve engine. This engine was the world's first mass-production 5 valve engine. 2. Some of you said that a trick that is photoshopped or AI, no this is a real car. From 1970 - 1978 Dodge do Brazil build a Charger that was based on the fourth generation Dodge Dart. The Brazilian Dart gained a two door hardtop version in 1970. This version was so popular the Chrysler decided to build a more sportier version the Dodge Charger. It differers from its Dart brother with a full width front grille, a stretched C-Pillar that mimics flying buttresses and rear fender stripes. Until 1975 Charger LS thad a 3 speed transmission and a 208 hp 318cui LA V8, while the R/T had a 4 speed transmission and a 215 hp 318cui LA V8. In 1976 the LS was dropped and only the R/T were available. The car in the picture is a 1976 Dodge Charger R/T, The correct answer were sent in by: otherunicorn Ace-Garageguy Bucky porschescr VanGoGo Bainford Fabrux Congratulations For those guy who sent in 1976 Dodge Charger I have to say sorry you got only 90% correct.

  6. Until 1980 Ford Argentina had build the Taunus TC then the swithced tto the "TC3"/"Cortina 80". Both saloon (2.0 L, 2.3 Ghia and 2.3 Ghia S) and Coupé (2.3 GT, 2.3 SP and 2.3 SP5) were produced, though again the estate-bodied cars and the two-door saloons were excluded from the Argentinian line-up. As part of the 1980 upgrade, Ford introduced a face-lifted version of the "TC1" fastback coupé, since 1975 produced only in Argentina, featuring the TC3 nose and its own unique taillights layout. These post-1980 Argentine Taunus fastback coupés also featured improved performance and a refashioned interior: they used the name "Taunus SP" or "Taunus SP 5", the "5" referring to the five-speed manual gearbox now available as an option. Apart from the five-speed option, the transmission choice, as for the European Taunus TCs, lay between a four-speed manual and, for larger engined cars, a three-speed automatic gearbox. The car in the picture is a Ford Taunus SP5. The correct answer were sent in by: Bucky otherunicorn ChrisR Thedragsterdude stitchup Matt Bacon DonW thatz4u Fabrux Congratulations

  8. Thedragsterdude found this car and I said to him that there will be a lot of wrong answers. And there were a lot of wrong answers. It seems that this car is an easy one because it looks familiar. But it isn't. In 1975 Lancia unveils the Lancia Beta Montecarlo, a 2 seat mid-engine sports coupe. In 1976 the want to sell the Montecarlo also in the USA, but GM had the rights on the name Montecarlo, so Lancia can't sell it under this name. Lancia named it Scorpion instead of Montecarlo. To accommodate U.S. emission regulations, a smaller emissions-tuned 1,756 cc twin cam engine was fitted. With less aggressive camshaft profiles, a smaller carburetor, and the compression ratio reduced to just 8.1:1, the Scorpion delivered 81 hp (60 kW), down from the 120 of the Montecarlo. To meet crash test and lighting requirements, the Scorpion had bigger 5-mph bumpers and low-rise pop-up, sealed beam headlights, adding some 130 lbs to the curb weight. Two additional series of vents on the engine cover were required to cool the catalyst. A total of 1805 units were built between 1976-1977. 14. I don't want to start a discussion about the design of this car, but it looks a bit strange. The Lea-Francis Lynx was build in 1960 and was powered by a 2.533L Ford Zephyr engine and a Triumph TR3 transmission. The design failed to impress potential buyers. Only three cars where build. The correct answer where sent in by: thatz4u otherunicorn DonW Ace-Garageguy Congratulations
  15. Since I got in to official retirement on Sunday I have more stuff to do than I thought🤣. I simply forgot to finish this quiz on Monday. Therefore 'll give you a hint for this one. The car had a two stroke engine and it was build in the southern hemisphere.
  16. Now it is time to give you the answer on autoquiz #624 1964 -1967 DKW-Vemag Fissore (Portuguese) Built in Brazil as the top model range of DRKW-Vemag. The two door body was designed by the Italian Carozzeria Fissore. The Fissore is technical based on the DKW-Vemag Belcar, which means it has a 3 cylinder two stroke engine and the chassis from the Belcar. It was built parallel to the Belcar until 1967 until VW do Brazil take over DKW-Vemag. Around 2500 cars were build. The outdated two stroke engine prohibited a market success. 17. It seems that this van was a tough quiz last week. This van was produced in Brazil from 1987 on. I couldn't any information how long the SR Ibiza was manufactured. Eduardo de Souza Ramos created the Ibiza, developed on the chassis of the Ford F-1000 pickup truck by SR Veículos Especiais (SR Special Vehicles). The front was inspired bey the Ford Aerovan but it had the size of a Ford Econoline. Interesting SR Ibiza buyers enjoyed the same the warranty like all Ford buyers. The correct answer were sent in by ChrsR otherunicorn Fabrux thatz4u Congratulations, well done!
  18. 1964- 1970 Reliant Scimitar GT SE4. The styling was based on the Daimler SX250 prototype. Build up on the chassis of a Reliant Sabre and powered by different Ford engines (SE4A 2.6l I6, SE4B 3.0l V6 Essex, SE4C 2.5l V6 Essex). The body was made out of fibre glass. 19. This rearend shows to a 1983 Mercury Capri RS Crimson Cat. The Mercury Capri was based on the fox bodied Mustang and only sold as a hatchback model. Main difference to the Ford Mustang where the flared fenders and a different front facias. For 1983, the Capri received a redesign of the rear hatchback, distinguished with a large compound-curve "bubble-back" rear window. Along with that revision came newly styled tail lights, rear bumper cover and front end grille. The car in the picture shows the one-year only Crimson Cat package. The Gold striping, TRX wheels and bright crimson red (code 27) paint, with black sport performance seating and red inserts gave this Capri a distinctive appearance. I got a lot of correct answers and a few refers to the Crimson Cat . Therefore I split the result into Gold and Silver award Gold - 1983 Mercury Capri RS Crimson Rat: Fabrux otherunicorn thatz4u DonW Silver - 1983 Mercury Capri RS TarheelRick Bucky Meriva Bainford Congratulations to all of you, well done.
  20. The Peerless GT Phase 1 was build from 1957 until July 1959. Nearly 250 Phase 1 were build when a facelift with over 20 small and not so small improvements were incorporated in to the design of the new Phase 2’s in July 1959. Most of these changes are not visible but a revised frontal design resulted in the headlamps being partially recessed into the fenders and a conventional non chromed grill replacing the “P” emblem that adorned the air intake of earlier cars. On the hood a single fairing replaced the previous “double-hump”. It wasn't an easy task to for me to decide who had sent the correct answer because most of the answer were Peerless GT. some said 1958, some 1959 some 1958 - 1961. So who gets a highly recommend for the correct answer Ace-Garageguy otherunicorn Richard Bratrop DonW Earl Marischal Recommend goes to thatz4u Bucky Congratulations
  21. According to the British motor journalist Giles Chapam the Humber Spectre Mk III was the worst car ever sold. Rootes Motor ltd. wanted to make a quick profit from the "ultra-respectable" reputation of the Humber brand and did a "good job of turning a traditional name into worthlessness. The Humber Spectre Mk III was build from 1967 - 1976. The Spectre Mk III was the only model of the luxuries high end car manufacture Humber that was produced after Chrysler ´had taken over Roots Motor Ltd. It was the high end middle class car of the Rootes Arrow car range (Singer Gazelle, Singer Vogue, Hillman Minx and Hilmann Hunter) Rootes sold seven different models that shares a common rootes Arrow base. This badge engineering was very common in the 1960/1970 in the Uk.
