There is no model kit of a 1971 - 1978 long wheel base Ford Transit MK1 (facelift) in 1/25 or 1/24. The only possiblity is to modifiy the short wheel base ESCI Ford Transit Mk2. You have to modify the front facsia , grill, headlight, dashboard, taillights, bumper, double rear wheels, new rear fender flares and stretch body. The main problem of this modification is the front it looks compely different to the Mk1. If you look at the attached picture you can see the differences between the blue Mk1 and the gray Mk 2. The blue one is mine and from 1969. If tried to modify the Esci kit and I failed hopefully you will do it better. But since 2015 you'll can see the new Ford Transit as a replacement of the Econoline or E-Series in the States or Canada. The poor thing about is there will no V8 or V10 in a Transit. The engine bay is to small. But you'll get in the States a Transit (see picture below) with a twin-turbocharged 3.5l V6 with 310HP and 600Nm torque low roof short wheelbase. We here in Europe will only get diesel engines . During this test drive on Ford Lommel Proving Ground I only saw the bends or corners through the side window. It was amazing. Check out this video of this Ford Transit at Nürburgring

Yes those tires are a night mare as long as you have something that looks like a tire in the kit. I have all of them an in 5 of these kits the tires is black sticky fluid. I also have in somekits like the Torana LX5000 resin tires. Either some of the previous owners of this kit changed them with resin ones or like in the newer ADR Distribution kits there are where delivery with resin tires. I also find out on the 3 that I had build the the tires look like a tike but they stick to the under ground.

Correct German Number Plates
carsntrucks4you replied to Junkman's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Thanks Christian, you can also make german an austrian license plates online http://www.kennzeichengenerator.com/germany.eu.php Sorry it is a german site There is one important seals missing which is on both plates. It is the seal of the country. Like on this site http://www.licensepl...many-234.html?= The AU seal is no longer necessary. This means that on the front plate is only the country seal, and on the back plate country seal and TÜV seal. The color of the TÜV seal change from year to year -
Dave, there are a few kits available down under. All kit are out of production so check out eBay australia The best resin kit is from ADR Distribution by Cavalier Model Productions http://www.cavaliermodels.com/ResinKits.html:1971 XY GTHO Phase III Not so bad is the one from CJ a 1971 XY GT The worst is from Jaymar a 1971 XY GT I got the ADR one see picture. The only negative point are the decals I also had one of those crude and crappy Jaymar body. Don't spent any one on any of the Jaymar kits The are a piece of BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH If you want to got to a diecasts I can highly recommend the XW GTHO Phase 2 (http://www.topgear.com.au/product.php?product_id=689) and XY GTHO Phase 3 from Trax. The last one is out of production. But check again ebay austraila. If you want an alternative like a XB or XC checkout again Cavalier the got a nicely done Coupe's. The XC is also out of production. XT and XB can also get from the parts box http://www.thepartsbox.com. You can get the XB sedan also as Max Rockastanky' aka Mad Max MFP Interceptor. Hope that helps
