  1. This old Revell-kit will be modified using a Fujimi Porsche 911 Turbo engine. It'll be lowered both front and rear. The wheels are stock AMT VW Rabbit 13" up front and the same wheels mounted to 15" rims in the rear. Originally this was a window van/bus. So I cut out and replaced the sidepanels using plastic card. I may, or may not...?, put a big sunroof to it and maybe even van-style Bubble-windows...
  2. That was 10 years ago...there's one on Ebay right now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WAVE-1-24-LXG-NEMOS-CAR-EX-LEAGUE-OF-EXTRAORDINARY-GENTLEMEN-KIT-/221990778472?hash=item33afae7668:g:I9MAAOSw7NNUBB7T
  3. really cool!

    VW typ 1

Very nice build, I'm building one of these myself right now and have built another 5 of them before! Really good looking with the Porsche wheels. Did You notice the rear window needs to be re-glued....
  7. I've done that! I used artificial nails (women-stuff LOL!!!) The smallest ones had the exact shape. I just had to cut them down a litle to achieve the correct look! http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t274/chromecop/VW%20challenge%202009/112.jpg
  8. Thanks for all positives! The model has been finished and presented in the "under glass-section". About the drums, I hade themn in my parts-box. They could come from the AMT Manx buggy, but I'm not sure??? The stinger is a bead-cone from Michael's Craft store. I scratchbuilt the exhust and collector from Evergreen rods and connected it to the stinger.
  9. Patrick, Randy's correct. This is a kitbash using Sangyo-Gunze's oval 1956 VW and the Baja-kit was pirated from a Kyosho Mini-Z RC-body, no longer in production. The Resin-body from Replica Minitures of Maryland is, I Think, a resin-copy of the Kyosho-body. It has the larger rear window of a VW 1958 and later. If You take a look in the Workbench-section there's a thread during Construction of my model. Thanks for the positives!
  10. Cool idea about those taillights!!!
  11. This build is coming along GREAT!!! I really like the fact that You've kept the stock rear fenders to keep the Bug identity. About that chop, it's really well performed, but did You really chop as much as 6 mm? It sure doesn't seem that much by the pictures... Also, 6 mm is about 6 scale inches in 1/25 scale. Every millimeter is equivalent to an inch in full scale as one inch is 25,4 mm , divide that with 25 and You get 1,016 mm. Keep up that good work! I'm a big VW fan and I really like this build!
  12. OK, so the homemade decals could've been better, but they're good enough for a Little race-car I Think!
  13. First coat of colour Went on today and done some detailing this evening:
  14. Hi all! I built this one during a 12h build-off on saturday. 16 modelers built one Gremlin each. I was the only one who built a Lowrider.
  15. First coat of primer Went on this morning:
  16. Very nice build! Looks like the real deal!
  17. Thanks George, I'll keep that in mind!
  18. That's true...at least by today's standard.... This is meant to be a 60's Baja, and as such I think those brake drums would be periodically correct?
  19. More work done the last couple of Days:
  20. Due to a bad flu and lotsa work I haven't done very much progress to this one lately. Only this:
  21. That's the coolest build of that kit I've seen ....EVER!!!!
  22. Added more details to the Baja this evening:
  23. Here's what it could look like with front wheelopening in the rear fender!
  24. WOW! Very nice!!!
