  1. Sorted the peeled places Well... As a rust-o-holic I just couldn't help myself...
  2. Results: Yes, the masking tape pulled off some paint, despite cleaning the body with soap and also alcohol prior to painting... Adding some paint:
  3. I started this beauty a few weeks ago. No, it will not be the Arai version It'll be a street racer A few pics of WIP and some minor mods I've made to it: Box: Parts in base colors: Body in base color: Masked: Black:
  4. I simply LOVE the way this came out in the end! Could you, please, give us some details about how you did the weathering? That surface patina looks just astonishing! Well done!
  5. Looks tempting... Are you going to replace window trims with the PE parts? I don't see the reason you should... I mean - just mask them and paint them... Why would one use PE parts for that...? :/ Paint? Hot orange...
  6. How the heck did I miss this one... Benjamin, this is one insane build that surely shows every one how to do stuff! Great work so far and I love every bit of it! Keep it up and I'll be inpatient untill the next update
  7. Thanx, David To be honest, I could've done the welds way better, but this was my first attempt of making welds with Tamiya 2-component putty. Also, the gaps between the door and the body on this die cast are the size of Grand canyon, so the putty kept slipping into the gap, which gave me hella problems... Will be better next time
  8. Push a piece of soldering wire inside the tube, heat it up, bend it and pull the soldering wire out Works for me
  9. Texture: Thick, unthinned enamel or acrylic paint painted at very high pressure. I usually use Revell enamel paints, don't thin them and airbrush them at about 3 bar of pressure.
  10. Thanx, guys Tom: Yes, I agree. This was my first ever model to use salt to get the rusted effect and yes - I overreacted...
  11. Thank you! Trenton: I stick to 1:24 or 1:25 if possible This is 1:24.
  12. Got this poor thing from a friend of mine. It was mint, but the quality of the model was like 2/10... Nice start... Check them pics for more OOB: Weathered:
  13. The welded doors are something I have never done before and I'm not too happy with the result, but I'll live with it...
  14. Hella! Now back to dirty, rusty and nasty weathered stuff that really gets my heart pumping...
  15. Thanx, guys! Yeah, the finger paid the price, but I'm not worried much as long as I can squeze the brakes on my BMX and MTB and play my drums Steve: Hoping for the best My father had his left middle finger smashed during an accident about 30 years ago and the feeling has never returned 100%... Mine wasn't smashed, but "only" cut and hopefully it'll be back in busines soon
  16. After about 13 rat-rods and rust-buckets I just had to check if I still know how to make a shiny model... Thanx, guys!
  17. I modded a 1:24 Welly Porsche 356 spider into a... Well... Eeeeerm... A rat... Why "bloody" in the name? Because I have permanently damaged my left index finger while trying to cut out the rear seat... I've cut straigh through a nerve and since then I haven't been able to feel a good portion of my fingertip... OOB: Done:
  18. Twins with a Welly 356 spider i modded a few months ago: Left-overs after both projects:
