I agree with dmk about the chasis. Appart from that the model looks great! Lovely weathering! -
So I've finished yet another modification of a 356 Here's the finished thing: There are a lot of mistakes and errors on this model, but I've wanted to do something mind-relaxing after a few longer projects with plenty of complicating... Your turn...

Here's my latest work. The base was a Maisto 1:24 Golf R32 in boring metallic black. No, thanx... Customisation: - "Grounding" the undercariage - Shaved look - Weathering with salt. I over-did this in quite some areas, but it'll do for a first-ever attempt - Camo paint-job (airbrush freehand) A few pics:

Smashed cars for monster trucks
Bastardo replied to moparmagiclives's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Don't even struggle searching for them - you can do it with any of your models in no time Here's my example. I took an already painted body of a '66 Chevelle SS, heated it up, used hair-spray technique for rust and chipping and finished the story with some pigments and a bit of flat clear-coat Here are a few shots of the process: I used a lighter to warm-up the plastic and deforme it with my fingers, a few screwdrivers etc. Oil filter applied with a brush: And some pastels being added: Hope that helps -
Did that thing run over a landmine?! Lookin' great so far, dude!

If it doesn't draw blood, is it really yours?
Bastardo replied to Harold's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What the... Dude, I hope you took a few drops of the blood and mixed it in the paint for the car BTW: Joey Jordison (drummer of Slipknot) once had a series of drumsticks painted in black, but there was a trick to it - the paint cointained a smal percentage of his own blood. I can imagine catching a stick after the concert... That would be some great "wall of fame" stuff to put up... Anyohw: Yeah, I've cut myself quite a few times by now. But the worst thing that happened to me during modelling was the following: I was about to strip paint from a die-cast model (I'm just nuts about modifying die-casts... ) and I wanted to use Lavacol - a product that 1:1 car painters use to strip paint off cars. The can had a label on it saying something like:"Warning, can under pressure, beware of blast while opening!". I "bewared" LOL... Stood low, covered most of the dangerous area wth my left hand, turned my head semi-sideways and as I popped the can, the pressure released and blew a few tiny drops throughout my garage... Yup, you've guessed it - one drop landed just under my left eye, one just above my upper lip and a few all over my arms and hands... Son of a... It burned like fire, let me tell you... I'm just too happy about the fact that that one drop just missed my eye... BE CAREFUL!!! -
Thanx for the comments, guys! Yeah, I've seen the original, but it was just... Let's just I'm not an OOB guy... lol David: Oh, I've had some great time building this little monster Might buy another one if I get a chance and do something else to it

Great details and realy well done! -
So here's my interpretation of a pre-historic Monogram model I've done almost no extra work on it, besides replacing the air intake, exhaust pipes, rear wheels and the steering column. Everything else is OOB, I painted it with Tamiya acrylics and weathered it with Mig washes, different pigments and some graphite dust. Did some dry-brushing here and there, a bit of chipping, some streaks etc. No big deal Since the model is pretty basic I really didn't want to complicate with wires and everything else. It was a just-for-fun build that lasted about 12 hours through few days Here's what it should llok like OOB: http://www.monster-h...cs/show/5152954 Here are some shots of my model:

Germans and lately more and more English guys do it as well I've also seen a few rides around here in Slovenia. 'Bout a month ago I saw a 4th generation Honda Civic slammed to the floor, rusted hood, sticker-bombed fender, a roof-rack full of junk... She was a pearl to look at Btw: It was a Honda meet - all other Hondas were washed, shiny, looking brand-new, but this rat amongst them caught my full attention
-
And that's just what I was going for

Thanks, Tom I've been following the European rat-rod scene lately and rides like this are a normal thing to see Even Mercedes S-class sedans, Hondas, VWs, Opels, ...
