  1. This is my first build for quite some time on this forum, but it's good to be back. I've built a few Revell Buttera T kits, but this is one I've wanted to do for over 40 years, ever since I abandoned a build of the sedan due to a warped body. The sedan delivery body is from an Ebay junkyard purchase many years ago, combined with a touring kit. The colour is SMS Chocolate Brown Pearl followed by Clear Brown, and a mix of Tamiya Light Earth and Sand for the roof. I hadn't realised that the touring bonnet was taller at the rear, so had to pie cut the painted item late in the build.
  2. Cheers Lee. I have just uploaded some pics to my original thread to replace ones formerly hosted by Photobucket.
  3. I was inspired by the above to build my own version, based on a Model A, Buttera rear axle and Tamiya Jaguar engine.
  4. My three, all based on the Revell kit.
  5. I noticed this sponsorship decal on the Sky Ferrari during the Fanatec Monza GT3 race last month, is it significant?
  6. This has been slowly progressing in the background over the last few months, it's a 1/24 Monogram 1932 Cadillac V16 Dual Cowl Phaeton. Painted with Tamiya Brilliant Orange over Red Brown.

    Mazda MX5

Well done, it's a wonderful kit to build. I've built three now, including an MX5 Global cup car. I have some leftover white stripe decals if you're interested.
  8. That's because he pronounced it correctly. It is named after the Austrian physicist Ernst Mach who studied super sonic effects such as shock waves.
  9. Here's my Apollo 12 Vette built from a R of G '69 Corvette kit using a few pieces from a '67 Vette (wheels and some engine parts). I had to fabricate outer sills as the kit comes with sidepipes, and added some exhaust tips from aluminium tubing cut to shape. Paint is Tamiya Gold with a hint of Yellow Pearl over the top. The real car was leased for $1 by Al Bean, the Lunar Module Pilot, hence the LMP xii licence plate.
  10. Just finished this custom Lindberg '53 Ford which was started many years ago and then sat on the shelf of doom. Paint is Tamiya Light Blue Metallic with a Mica Blue roof covered in Lame Flake and then some clear blue. The bumpers are from a '65 Mustang (front) and the rear is a cut-down '69 Mustang front. The rear lights are shaped clear red sprue.
  11. I used Tamiya Candy Lime Green Pearl on mine, which looks pretty close.
  12. It's on its way to the printers - please see this thread.
  13. I recently read an article in the November 2020 issue of Octane magazine about the unique Corvettes leased to the Apollo 12 astronauts for the princely sum of $1 for a year. The only surviving example originally belonged to Lunar Module Pilot Alan Bean, and duly inspired I acquired a Revell coupe as a starting point. I had to fabricate lower sills and trim, because the kit came with sidepipes, and also open up exhaust outlets in the rear panel. The body is painted in Tamiya Gold under Yellow Pearl.
  14. Thanks Walid. Yes, I used BMF for the chrome trim and Molotow for touching up the chrome parts. My kit also had all the moulding problems being experienced by GeeBee in his review, but they were a quick fix.
  15. Hi David, I got them from the Revell '64 Chevy Lowrider kit.
  16. Here's my take on the new Revell E Type Jaguar, painted with Tamiya Gunmetal. I added the whitewalls from my spare decals, otherwise it's out of the box.
  17. Cheers Kurt, it's actually an old Johan kit, I also have the roadster version to build.
  18. Awesome work - as a boy I had a Corgi/Dinky diecast of this car, painted in lime green and white.
  19. Time for my annual review of additions to my fleet of cars - quite a productive year, what with COVID and no overseas trips or visitors, resulting in a record production of 30 kits. I also managed to place in a couple of competitions.
  20. I agree, it happens throughout the decades. Here's a kit comparison, Camaro and Cuda. They are very similar apart from grilles, bumpers and some swage lines - a bit like the white cars above.
  21. NA is the first version of the MX5 (Miata) with pop-up headlights. The NB version was introduced in 1998, followed by the NC in 2005. The current model is the ND.
