X2. But then, five years as a medium market television news producer has shortened my patience for watching home spun TV.

Wow, what a prolific year. A great collection. My favorites would be the Challenger (just something smokin' hot about that), the '53 and the airplane. Either that or I can only see the color red.

This is my approach... The actual transcontinental record, is 31-hours, 7-minutes set in 2006 by Alex Roy using all the trickery available. Here is a very fun read. Carrying fuel is an advantage but I'm willing to risk (knock on wood) that my tires will be fine for 3,000 miles and, say, 33 hours. My real experience has shown that when the highways make large, swooping, indirect loops through the mountains, it is NOT faster taking the logging roads that appear to cut through the middle.

Chevy Titan 90 and Lifestock Trailer
Lunajammer replied to Dominik's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I'm just seeing this now Dominik. Another fantastic build. I can almost smell it. Looks like it's been through a winter. -
Are you SURE you have EVERYONE?

Welcome to the dark side Jonathan, nice to see you back in. Interesting ideas. But you still gotta build it and the devil is in the details.

Ha! It's Photoshopped. You can see the photo's cut line behind the wheel where I slid the crop over. I was showing the plan. There's no chassis, it's resting on two untrimmed tires and a prop. So take that you you doody headed ninny wags. Which brings up another point, is this forum too hot for smack talk? That can be fun too with the right crowd.

New camera for christmas......see?
Lunajammer replied to Terry Sumner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You'll love it. That's essentially the one I use, only mine is about four years old and only 8mpx. But the lens is everything! I'd like a lower f-stop to keep things in focus in lower light and mine's not good with action shooting but I'm sure yours has addressed those things by now. -
Absolutely wonderful.

Wow, looks like you've been having a lot of fun with this. A labor of love.

It's not that I'm so enamored with Corvettes, I never thought I'd build one. But when I found a Jungle Jim '70 Camaro funny car (body only) in my junk box, I was struck by how similar the proportions are to an '89 Corvette, except for length of course. This year's entry and car title is "Cormaro." Thanks to Jungle Jim Lieberman, the top chop and body section is done, I just need to reel in the length and cut open the hood and a hundred other fiddly things to test my patience. So much for trying to keep it simple this year.

I'd like to suggest that entrants regularly remind us what they're building when they post updates. I can't keep track weeks or months in what everyone's building when they show a specially modded suspension bit or a custom fitted do-dad and have to go ten pages back to see what it's for.

Another great looking wagon. Nice work. Thanks for sharing it.

Good luck on your collage. Or watch the spelling on your application, college professors are picky. Congratulations! What a great feeling. Now the world becomes your oyster.

Flashback 1976 - MPC '76 Monza 2 + 2
Lunajammer replied to Erik Smith's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I built this in the 70's when I was about 13. (Had to pay extra for that custom brush painted finish and tube glued felt carpeting ) Thanks Erik, now I can say, "so THAT'S where those honeycomb wheels in my parts box came from." MPC had the Monza Mouse mentioned above. I got this at a flea market last summer. It's rough but salvageable. It appears to have acquired a Vega hatch somewhere. It also came with Mickey Thompson grooved drag slicks. Might've been kit issued, not sure. -
Marker renderings of traditional Rods and Customs, etc
Lunajammer replied to traditional's topic in Auto Art
I've been "on the job" fluent in Adobe products for eleven years and what you say Harry about all of it is true. Yet, there's still no substitute for the warmth of marker renderings and mixed media and Clifford you do a fantastic job. Your experience, talent and skill is quickly apparent. I love them. If you're not familiar with one of my favorite sites, then click this link to Plan59.com You might appreciate the gallery of the golden age of classic marker art, airbrush and photography. Clean high res images. -
Amazing detail. Beautiful renderings.

Really neat. Very deco. Very speedy. Put fins on it and it would like a vintage comic batmobile

Beautiful execution of a classic kit. Well done Carl.
