  1. Sorry, I've got plans. I'm going to smash it to bits for spite. Hmm, come to think of it I think spite's a capital offense in Utopia. Wait, that's Utah. Nope I'm smashing it to bits for spite.
  2. A productive year to be proud of. Nice work. Yup, the scaling perspective and subject of the dio wins the day.
  3. Wow, that's an amazing clean up. Talk about getting a second chance.
  4. I came up with an idea far from what I'd planned at the start of this. I put on my Utopian ball cap and envisioned the Cherry Bomb with three rim rider wheels.
  5. I look forward to whatever gem you bring forth Johann. I had a brainstorm during my delirious wake up today and I've got an awesome idea. More later. Thanks too for the graphics kudos. I did them as two pages, but when I loaded them they were too tall for the maximum post height and they scaled way down so I had to cut each page in two, but not equally. That's why they became four unequally sized links. Rats. I'd like to correct them to flow better but I guess they'll do for now.
  6. And a beauty it is. Nice work. Super crisp lines on the chassis.
  7. That's great Nick. Looks like a storyboard, like you're directing a film. Nice to see figures posed right too. I was very happy that removing the old decals from the Jungle Jim funny car was just a matter of pulling them off with tape. The plan for the Cormaro, as posted previously, was to section a quarter inch out of it. I took a little more than that much out but still felt it was a tad too long so I took another 1/16-inch out. Totalling just under a scale foot.
  8. Motorcycles welcome Austin. The plan for my build is involved and I may not get to the masterpiece until a bit later. However I have a quickie to start off with and will show my starting point after the holidays settle. I'm dying to see what kind of creativity show up here.
  9. You have all year Brandon, dive in at will.
  10. Gas in Utopia has jumped to .75¢ a gallon?
  11. An excellent choice Jacen. I'd love to see several interpretations of this from others. All are welcome in Utopia.
  12. Looks fantastic Raoul. I have the Aurora kit and it could never look that good.
  13. You know, I sit here and imagineer ideas that get too involved and defeated before they ever get off the ground and you just up and do. Harumph! What a delightful and fun piece.
  14. Flying cars, concept cars, custom cars, aero cars, streamliners, wings, show cars, fantasy, retro futurism, shiny steampunk, fins, bubble tops, bullets, anti-gravity, asymetric, avant garde. Can be real detroit concept cars or pure, fantastic fiction. The science of it is not important. Like conceptual cars, the art of the idea is what counts. The spirit of the build is utopian. Battle machines and weaponry are out. Prefer no rust and gunk but if it contributes to the wonder of your machine it's allowed. Whether from the distant past looking to the near past, or today looking to the future. It doesn’t have to be our future, could be your grandfather’s vision, short term or long term. Runs 2013 through 2525 ("...if man is still alive.") Join anytime. As usual, must show starting point, partial builds accepted but prefer builds that are less than 50-percent complete. Can use anything; kits, glue bombs, blister packaging, toy parts, bottles, any material that supports a vision of future transportation from any era.
  15. Stunning amount of work but the results paid off. Way to persevere.
  16. X2. But then, five years as a medium market television news producer has shortened my patience for watching home spun TV.
  17. Wow, what a prolific year. A great collection. My favorites would be the Challenger (just something smokin' hot about that), the '53 and the airplane. Either that or I can only see the color red.
  18. This is my approach... The actual transcontinental record, is 31-hours, 7-minutes set in 2006 by Alex Roy using all the trickery available. Here is a very fun read. Carrying fuel is an advantage but I'm willing to risk (knock on wood) that my tires will be fine for 3,000 miles and, say, 33 hours. My real experience has shown that when the highways make large, swooping, indirect loops through the mountains, it is NOT faster taking the logging roads that appear to cut through the middle.
  19. I'm just seeing this now Dominik. Another fantastic build. I can almost smell it. Looks like it's been through a winter.
  20. Are you SURE you have EVERYONE?
  21. Welcome to the dark side Jonathan, nice to see you back in. Interesting ideas. But you still gotta build it and the devil is in the details.
  22. Ha! It's Photoshopped. You can see the photo's cut line behind the wheel where I slid the crop over. I was showing the plan. There's no chassis, it's resting on two untrimmed tires and a prop. So take that you you doody headed ninny wags. Which brings up another point, is this forum too hot for smack talk? That can be fun too with the right crowd.
  23. You'll love it. That's essentially the one I use, only mine is about four years old and only 8mpx. But the lens is everything! I'd like a lower f-stop to keep things in focus in lower light and mine's not good with action shooting but I'm sure yours has addressed those things by now.
  24. Absolutely wonderful.
