  1. Excellent Adam, I look forward to any progress. Andy your post reminds of a past thread about what makes your builds stall out. I'm kind of there with you on the BMF.
  2. Wow Michael, that's intense. Pretty powerful story. I hope those who are trying to quit will take something from it.
  3. I need to start.
  4. The decals look right at home on that Rob. Looks like everything's laying down pretty good for you. That's gotta be a relief. Niko, I can't believe how much you're getting done in a short amount of time. All of it looks great, your extra effort shows.
  5. Not too surprised. It may be repercussions from a small quake I heard about last week that I think was about 100-miles off the eastern seaboard. Only notable because it was on the heals of Sandy. No ill-effects from it though.
  6. Me likes. I'll bet it was fun to build too.
  7. That, to me, is the purest form of modeling. Doing something you have a fond emotional connection to, drawing on those memories as a reference, reliving the 1:1 build to some extent and ending up with a killer recreation of your car. Can tell this was a labor of love and you remember every inch of it. Really a well done, authentic piece.
  8. I'll see your CCR and raise you Manfred Mann. [media=]
  9. That engine looks great Niko. The body doesn't look too bad, maybe just a little color sanding for smoothing and you'll probably feel better about it. ARC, sorry to hear about your exit. I was kind of looking forward to your entry. If last year was any indication, I know you would have brought a very serious contender... in other words, a beauty! Erik, that interior looks super clean! I can't wait to see more of this.
  10. Looks pretty good all the way around. Beautiful work. Our local Life Flight just switched to these and boy do they sound aggressive.
  11. Dominik, thank you very much for introducing us to this kit. Your detailed photos and answers have cleared up a lot of questions I've had. Beautiful work, as always.
  12. Well now there's an enigma. Ken Kesey's bus could be both at the same time.
  13. Or would that be further? Farther would be a physical spacial distance. Further would be a figurative distance, as in, further in life... unless he ends up in Botswana. That would be pretty far.
  14. WHOA, talk about having to look twice. With the right set, this could be posted in Real or Model. Not a bad year for you I'd say.
  15. And that completes the connection. When The Magician and Rockford Files premiered, there were only three commercial networks, so the launch of a new show was an even bigger deal than it is now. They were promoted together and launched consecutively to each other with a slight plot crossover. I was pretty stoked to watch them and as a ten year old, I really thought The Magician, with the vigilante entertainer using theatrical magic and slight of hand to bag criminals then jet off in his private Boeing jetliner to escape would be the TV hit. Rockford I thought was just another PI show on the heals of Mannix. But then, at that age, I didn't know the popularity of James Garner either. EDIT: Hmm my (unreliable) source has 853 OKG as Rockford's dad's truck.
  16. Getting warm Steve. Hint: The connection is they were the same network and their pilot episodes ran back to back as a Movie of the Week double feature. More than that, the first show segued into the other show so there was a bit of plot crossover. I don't recall which series pilot ran first.
  17. You are exactly correct on that one. Still remaining is the other license plate of a MUCH more successful show and in what ways are they connected?
  18. I'm going to guess you've learned a thing or two along the way ( ) so I know you'll do a sweet job. It already looks pretty nice.
  19. Wow, what a great nostalgia piece. You didn't miss a trick. It's got tetanus written all over it.
  20. Names the shows. And if you can, how are they connected?
  21. Hmm. Seeing as how he hasn't been online in over three years, I hope he ventures back sometime to receive our appreciation of his work. It's fantastic. So good I'm dying to know exactly how he did it.
  22. Excellent. I've been waiting for someone to take this step. Add me to the list of folks who would like to build this version of the Olds. A neighbor of mine restored a 1:1 of this. Painted it the richest black I'd ever seen and it was a factory stock beauty. Great work Billy, now bring it home.
  23. That's a beauty right there. Excellent work, your friend will be happy.
