  1. Nice photo choices too. That's about as nice as I've seen that kit done. Lovely.
  2. I never saw the Mustang similarities before until I saw this thread. Looks like you're off to a great start.
  3. Beautiful work and well shot. Less is more.
  4. All this time I've been trying to figure out how graft on '57 Chevy fins. Looks like I've been considering the wrong path. Exciting model. Nice job.
  5. Hey, you're really onto something there Zen. You should consider having that cast.
  6. Yup. The Skoal Monte is on my list of sentimental favorites. Top notch on all of 'em.
  7. That's funny. Sort of like grunting, scratching and barking out baseball highlights after being caught getting misty eyed watching Terms of Endearment. I enjoy watching Danica Patrick race. It's okay to like her car outright. Nice work on the roll bars. It sure makes a difference in appreciating the complexity of the safety cage.
  8. Yes, the front end is turning out quite nice, good job. But I sure have a hard time getting past the visual weight of that panel van roof. It steals the attention from your other careful details. Here's sample of how a window might look. Sure, it's a little cliche' and it wouldn't have to be a window but I feel like something needs to lighten that area.
  9. Agreed Mike. From certain angles they're almost as sexy as the muscle car based nascars of old... almost.
  10. ...And the wrong information. There are always a handful of (well intentioned?) folks who are more motivated to tell you how much they know than try to give you a useable answer your question. Yes a searchable, photo database would be a lot of work but any internet database is. Yet there are some amazing sites of obscure subjects that do just that because someone took it upon himself to start. Plan59.com is one and it's a must see. One person alone couldn't do it but with contributions from users and a little time it would at least grow into an ongoing resource, not unlike the Drastic Plastic instruction sheet database. Regardless of differing opinions of good or poor, you could at least use your own judgement if there was a starting place that let you browse as swiftly as your creative thoughts.
  11. I got a Monroe Handler sealed kit for $10 at a vendor table. #1 I couldn't believe that's all he wanted for it. #2 I couldn't believe it had been there all day before I found it. Ben, I remember that build. Super work. Don't forget us when you're done.
  12. Herbie is like puppies, how can you not love it?
  13. That's one slippery Buick. I like your wheel choice too.
  14. These are the kind of cool things I remember from your postings elsewhere. They're always engaging.
  15. Now that's a smooth operator. Love your choices, and especially think the wheels give it all its arrogance.
  16. A puddlian o' the well do ne'er For Burns be know'n few dare. Thine spittle haste cast and tru' upon Ye hacken o' verbiage 'n' mess'd yon to'nge
  17. ...as a collective glance is tossed in Ira's general direction.
  18. I'm always leery of unsolicited sites that require file transfers, program downloads or other kinds of direct connections to my computer. I may be stodgy but that may be one reason I've never had a virus detected (being on a Mac may be another reason). This site is probably fine, but if its just for fun..........
  19. This project is quite a treat for me to watch David. I think that engine idea is absolutely brilliant. What an awesome surprise to an already delightful build.
  20. Interesting idea and nicely done. The sort of thing you'd actually see at a car show.
  21. Bullet holes and busted out back window. Very nice touch.
  22. X2. It's tragic to see the classic bodies get scrapped into the short term gratification of racing. BUT if I was in that crowd I would be enthralled to see them race. I guess I'd just have to drink beer and drown the guilt. Exciting build you've got. You nailed it about mopars and racing, they're just meant to look scary mean in race garb. Your Challenger looks exactly right. Keep pushin' cuz now you owe us the finished piece . Love it.
  23. There was a place on earth this night my friends, where the gods looked upon the unwashed with mercy and granted mild temps, dry air and a puff for a breeze. Where the unwashed bowed their heads and said, "it's about time you power mongers." And the paint did fly. Gold can be dicey, maybe you can related Slant. The body work can't have scratches and I still got a little speckling from overspray that I couldn't resolve. But I'm still going to add a layer of turn signal amber to tint the gold some so hopefully I can get away with rubbing the metallic a little.
  24. In some ways I find the dialogue refreshing. "Out of the mouths of babes" and all that. Manners aside, he put it out there, asked, listened to the answer then made a judgement. Grown ups would have just politely kept to themselves and assumed the worst of you.
  25. Fantastic execution. Snapper or high detail, it all boils down to what you bring to it and yours looks really crisp. I drove an 82 Camaro for nine years. No complaints.
