  1. Reel 1 says "we like to think everyone escaped with their lives." Yeah, right. Aside from the macabre public appeal of grievous bodily harm on some of those, I'm most impressed with how well it shows the speed of the classic racers. Those mad men MOVED in their clatter rods, make no mistake.
  2. Craigslist. No shipping, you're dealing face to face so you can negotiate an equitable price, no post-sale accusations, no fees or commissions and you're selling to people in your community who will share your enthusiasm for the hobby.
  3. Shawn, those are really fantastic models, all of them. I'll bet you learned a lot about the ISS building that.
  4. Excellent choices and execution. It's about as crisp and clean as a North Dakota winter.
  5. Has the body been dipped or coated with something? It's not just smooth, it's quite filled in, as seen in the front end shots. It's more than putty, sanding and painting isn't it?
  6. Hey what do you know? Something on the '60 Cor-Vex got an actual color, other than putty and primer.
  7. Still driving this. Ten years now. Meh.
  8. It's a beauty alright. Since everyone loves the color, could you tell me what color and paint brand? Thanks.
  9. I really love the graphics. A good example of "less is more."
  10. As cool as the character features look, I can't imagine a team would opt for it over a "cleaner" body unless the drag coefficient has been slightly reduced for all new models.
  11. I don't always look at these because they show up here often but I must say this is as fine a job as I've seen. Beautiful, clean build and impressive attention to detail. And to think you're only going to get better. I'll keep an eye out.
  12. That's penalty enough for me.
  13. You used a primer and made sure the plastic was thoroughly cleaned first?
  14. Nice work, I like this. I'm glad you included the stills. I vaguely remember the movie car.
  15. Reminds of a similar one I test drove a few years ago. If you relax your foot even a little you'll be ten over the speed limit easy. The pedal was so light and so smoothe & powerful you really had to pay attention. The wheels are a great change up and I love your engine detail.
  16. Hey Rob, at your convenience, I don't suppose you'd be willing to show us some of those would you? Maybe some of the more unusual ones?
  17. I like it just the way you have it. It's a long and fast race. It's reminiscent of where the American stock car stance was going at the time. Besides it's got meaningful attitude, and photographs well for the final win............................................. Hey, wait a minute..... I'm in this too.... I mean, uh, I think you should jack it way, way up.
  18. I don't know Slant, I think cutting the seat out will open a pandora's box of time and effort. Rebuilding whole panels... will the end result reflect the effort? Extending down will probably be enough to keep you busy. No question Rob, the rake looks pretty good.
  19. Maybe consider this Rob... I only feel guilty about not working on models on weekends. I have all the time in the world, time even reserved for just that. Yet Sunday night nothing got done. I've concluded it's because modeling fits into weeknights after supper much better than on weekends when everything else is going on, even if it's sleeping, goofing off and vacationing from the weekday obligations, because that's what I need to recoup from the previous week's day job. And as mentioned before, the model will always be there. If they become an obligation, you don't feel (mentally?) rested. Thusly, things more recreational get your attention. Guilt not my friend.
  20. Are you kidding? The Heartland Model Car Nationals is in your back yard. http://www.kcslammer...les/Page648.htm
  21. Does that mean you reached Nirvana?
  22. This is why models don't get built in the summer. (Did the hard bags graphic myself entirely with Testors paints). "1 - 2 - 3 - model cars are stupid." ---*Click*---
  23. Thanks Sam. Personally I would have preferred the LAPD issue because I'm not stoked about the gold chrome, even thought it goes with very nicely with the black body and graphic. I made the mistake of packing it with styrofoam peanuts and now I know how they react with vinyl tires.
  24. Thanks for the kudos guys. This kit's been around for quite awhile so I'm sure everyone's seen it in some incarnation or another. The engine detailing obviously isn't out of the box Brian but everything else is pure Monogram. I did this probably 18 years ago and if I recall correctly I just gloss coated the bare plastic with Future. Pretty good kit, crisp fit, quick build and I know there's been some interest in seeing this one re-released again.
