  1. I dunno about nuclear, but this certainly was a bomb...
  2. All those who believe that Ron should have this conversion cast in resin, please join the line to the left..... BEAUTIFUL work - I cannot wait to see this one completed!!!
  3. I'm sorry to hear that you've lost your dad. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
  4. Simply GORGEOUS!!!!!
  5. Looks gorgeous already, Chris - it should be a real stunner when complete!!!
  6. As far as roll bar padding in 1/24th scale, I have had good results using 1/8th-inch shrink wrap tubing - I slit it lengthwise if needed, and a touch of super glue usually holds it in place well. For the zip ties on the paddding and for underhood use, regular old sewing thread works quite well for me. I use a good set of tweezers to tie the knots, and a pair of small "decal" scissors to cut the excess closely off.
  7. THAAAAAANNNNNKS, guys - I've just soiled myself!!!! (are first-born children acceptable as partial payments?!??)
  8. Beautiful little unit, Chris!! The field of emergency medical care certainly has evolved technologically in the past seven decades, hasn't it??
  9. Does anyone remember the Yamaha Motobike from the seventies?? I had the good fortune to own one during my preteen years - rode the tires right off of it(literally)!! After I got my driver's license and the distractions of school/work/truck ownership/girls took over, I was persuaded to give it to charity when it sat unused for some time - there has been the occasional regret over that!!! I currently have a Chinese "mass-merchandiser"-branded mountain bike - about as much of a precision piece as a lead pipe, but it does give my middle-aged butt some exercise....
  10. And yet another stellar execution of an R&R vintage ambulance - beautifully crafted, Chris!!!
  11. AMT's original 1970 Ford Police Interceptor. Used every part in the kit, the better part of a tube of glue, and not a lick of paint - ugly as original sin, but I loved it. When Hobby Heaven arranged for the reissue in the nineties, I bought a CASE of 'em!!!
  12. Unfortunately all I had as a lad were some horrid Palmer dinosaur kits - they all turned out looking like stunted puppies, or "Smurfs" gone bad......
  13. Either a 1971 or 1972 Miller-Meteor Landau endloader - looks to be nice and unmolested!!!
  14. I am so sorry for your loss, Casey - your family is in my prayers.
  15. WHAT?!?? You'd allow that "other" magazine to photograph your stuff, Brian?!??? Neat pics - thank you for sharing them with us!!!
  16. Do you wish to offend the donut and/or Pop Tart-oriented segment of this forum by their absence from the possible selections?!??
  17. It certainly was worth the effort, Jim - probably one of the best examples of the Astro built up that I have ever seen! KUDOS to you, sir!!!
  18. This is COOL - almost a retrospective of the "Light Commercial" column!! Thanks for graciously providing us with access to all your builds, including your "Cowboy Cadillac" Chevy pick-em-up. How often does one get to see vintage Porsches and Ferraris mixed in with cop cars, light trucks and Captain Nemo's ride??
  19. Thought it was high time to post some of my meager efforts here! This is Revell's wonderful Caprice Snap Kit. The lightbar was liberated from an AMT/Ertl Taurus police car kit. Finish is a combination of PlastiKote and Duplicolor with old Chimneyville decals and Duplicolor clear coats. Basic plumbing and wiring under the hood, scratched antennas from piano wire stock and turned sprue bases, and a pinned and repositioned kit spotlight round it out.
  20. Very tasty rendition of Mongram's Pony, Brian - the wheels add a nice counterpoint to the resto-flavored theme of the car!!!
  21. Yew want fries with dat?!??
  22. Am I the only one that can practically HEAR the Toyota dealers drooling over the markup on this package when combined with a carriage roof and faux continental kit?!??
  23. I know that PMC originally made a promotional-style model "in the day" - seems to me it was also available as a cellophane bagged unassembled kit as well. I wish you good luck in finding one of those umwarped and at a reasonable price!! I think that Tom Coolidge offered a resin version through his Promolite company at one point. It does not currently appear in his listing, however. http://public.fotki.com/tomcoolidge/promolite-product-list/
  24. Hi Bruno - I have also purchased parts from Vaughan and have had nothing but the best from him. Nicely crafted masters, beautiful castings, and fast, reliable service - I will do business with him again!!!
  25. That last one looks like an escapee from a Busch Gardens attraction park ride!!! ......I think my eyes just threw up.........
