From WINNER to 2nd place in the first Daytonia 500, how disappointing! Johnny Beauchamp the first loser(2nd place) in the Daytonia 500 in 1959 and the first running of the Daytonia 500.

Not your old man's Plymouth.........Neo 1/43 resin Chryslers
Funkster replied to formula1129's topic in Diecast Corner
Just great, who makes them and where do you get them -
I don't think that is a 1964 Impala, but a 1962. Picture of the front end would tell us the year for sure but from what I see its a 62!

I know that the 1970 Plymouth Superbird was molded in green on a later release? -
To tell you guys, wrong. They were not fender well headers, they were a cast iron(two piece) factory made header that was only on the 413/426 cid wedges of the early 60's Dodge and plymouth's for drag racing. Yes they were on the 13.5;1 engines. These speiceal headers came up along the valve cover and then went down along the back of the engine. at that time there was a joint which bolted the bottom part on and ran along the trans. I don't know of any kit that makes them headers, only make headers that are after market. This would be a nice resin project. I think the last time I seen a set of these headers on e-bay they went for $2500.00. very rare and they are cast iron!

Been out the the hobbie for about 30 yrs, What I did then and got trophy for would do justise from what I seen tonite! I'm working on and off on a AMT 1968 Road Runner, I'm not building it with the Hemi, I just ordered a Gibson 383 Magnum engine which is the way most were sold back in the day. Nice meeting you and the group tonight.

Love them, Big Mopar fan. The Imperial is WOW thats great. I myself would be looking for a 67 Plymouth Sport Fury 2 dr hardtop(not the fast top.). Found a lot of Fury !!!'s with fast tops. Again great builds on both.

definition of a rat rod
Funkster replied to retroguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A rat rod is some that you put together from parts(old junk yard bodies from the 30's that are not painted). Built on a say Speedway chassie and an good or rebuilt motor. Chassie and motor should be top notch. That is what I've been seeing at that car shows around here(like Symco Shakedown here in WI.). -
That is the greatest looking 32 I've seen in a long time. Great work with the detail also.

Any of the about, love that body style. That body style was great, like the 72 better. As they called it at the time the Coke bottle body, narrow in the front wide at the rear. That was the best body styling for 71 & 72 of the big three, bar none!

Not a chevy fan, or for that matter a corvette fan. Its sad that, that happened. But I could care less. Maybe they could dig one of the plastic toys up and i could through it in the purple tub, clean off the paint, put some bondo on it paint and reglue it. They will be alright and ready to go again.
