  1. In Fargo here back in the 60's they still had 2 door cruiser's. My dad would come home in one for supper. He was a cop here for 33 years.
  2. Today while shopping as I was getting to the checkout aisle, I wondered into the makeup section. Bought a new bottle of a nail polish blue color I've never seen before, and some foam applicators, and brushes. for doing weathering powders.
  3. Once again time for a dose.
  4. Speaking of nail polish, when in that area check out the little fingernail sticky's, or nail tattoo's that are there. They make for interesting little pieces for jackets, and such. Check out the bed cover, on my HO scale 54 Ford. Also check out thye bead aisle, and sewing dept's. You'll find all sorts of useful stuff there. When I was doing 1/25th scale I would but 2-3 yards of white corduroy material for interior use.
  5. Just think of Dave Shulkis. Look at what he accomplished.
  6. Happy Holidays to you also Doc.
  7. Even as a young one he had issues.
  8. Nope they are made for linen storage I think. But they sure work great for all sorts of things. I have at least 4 dozen plastic shoe boxes also that I use to store projects in, and pieces parts.
  9. Fallen Hero in my eyes. My Dad, may he RIP. After the war he became a policeman in Fargo for 33 years. Thats him with a very young Mercman. .
  10. I use this from Rubbermaid. In one drawer is tubing, one is sheet plastic, the other is plastic tubing. Also I have mailing tubes cut in 1/2 to hold it in.
  11. I built the Alfa Romeo from Pocher, the tire assmbly was 120 pieces for each tire. Like Haryy said the instructions are vague sometimes, and jump all over the place.
  12. Most of the interior to this building in HO scale. Games dart board, pool table, stage, DJ booth, juke box, speakers, the bar. Only things not scratch built are the wall kegs, and the people.
  13. Okay guys here's the latest. If you have a engine you need a rear end, and drive shaft right. Here's a before (RED), and a after Yellow) showing what the original looks like(Red). Started thinking maybe I could lower the roof abit. Finally the stance between the 2.
  14. This is familiar.
  15. Jim I seem to remember a certain T rat rod you did.
  16. Finally got the guts to tackle the front suspension on this build. I took a 1/4" piece of tubing, cut it 1/16th" thick, then cut that in half to make the springs. The drop axle is a piece of florists wire. The small wire betweent th frame is for the engine mount. Next I put on the tires to check the stance. Then dropped on the body to check clearances. I may have to tweak the front just a tad lower.
  17. Another question comes to mind, How long is the copyrite good for on printed material. If the publication has been gone for a long time?
  18. Best thing to do is ask for permission. I found a print by Dale Klee that I wanted to make a model of. I wrote him and got his permission to copy the print. I have to add the disclaimer that IS NOT MY WORK (print) and was given permission to use it.
  19. Or just follow the instructions on the instruction sheet. That is what I did, with great results. BTW Dave I am waiting for the Mel's Kit from AG to be released.
  20. I got my first kit a Kresge's. We had a drug store on the corner, 3 blocks down was Hobbyland, then another drug store, Kresge's, Woolworth's, then onto The Toy Chest. I purchased my first X-Acto knife there for 29 cents. Mostly I bought at Kresge's. I got to know the lady in the toy dept. fairly well. Cash back then came from lawn work, and snow shovelling. If I had $2.00 it was gone in a flash. On a side bar when The Toy Chest closed they had Revell Double Gragster kits just in side the front door. They were stacked floor to cieling and over 40 feet long, the entire wall. Here's the killer they were $0.50 each. Yep only half a buck. Oh to have foresight back then..... :(
  21. I think I know the guy in the middle brother.
  22. Thanksgiving Humor for you.
  23. Tony love the light shade. Yeah craft stores have all sorts of goodies we can use. For my tribute bike build I used a button, and a charm from a charm bracelet on it. If you decide to do glass insulators check out the bead dept. Lots of different styles to choose from.
  24. Decided to add a little detail to it. First up I roughed in the headers for it, and built a frame. Have to add the front suspension yet. How about a starter, and oil pan, and water pump pulleys. Oil Filter, and transmission. Firewall, and up on wheels.
