  1. Excellent work.
  2. AMT's 49 Merc This is the first one I chopped using the article in SAE. Won all sorts of awards. I had 65 kits of various issues of it eventually. This one was the Crusin USA series.
  3. You'll never know till you try.
  4. Tony that was Kurt's car.
  5. Sweet.
  6. Okay here's one for you. " Your cars uglier than I am."
  7. Ya know what a guy could do a half version of it. Yeah a full size would be big, But a killer idea.
  8. Here's a new kit out now in the stores. Yes it's 1/87th scale. Should be easy to convert to this.
  9. I have the top one from City Classics, and have seen the bottom one. Nice to build.
  10. A good primer I found is VHT paint. It is used for engine blocks, and headers. Comes in white, black gray, and is very smooth. Takes enamels, or lacquers well. Most automotive parts stores should have it.
  11. You bet I will I have the base to redo yet, and the fence pole holes are drilled.
  12. You can get Fimo at Michael's, or Hobby Lobby. Maybe even at a craft shop. Comes in a 2w2x2 sruare. Just shpe it the way you want then bake it for 20-30 min's. Hardens like concrete, but you can carve, and sand it.
  13. Have you tried Fimo Clay for your food. I used Fimo for the hot dogs, burgers and buns. The fries are embroidery floss run through white glue. The Condiment s are dowel rod with a pin for the nozzle, and the salt, pepper shakers are tops of some tooth pics. The napkin holders are just square tubing, with tissue in them . Overall great job.
  14. I had ordered this back in April, but it kept on getting pushed back on delivery time. I plan on using it for the office for this dio. It will replace the one in the corner with the blue roof. Front. Back More pics here. http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a2/mercman51/HO%20buildings/Rons%20Racing%20Shop/
  15. We had a store called the Toy Chest. When they went out of business they had a sale on the Revell double drag kits. Basically the parts packs in a kit box. Two cars per box. The wall from the front door into the building was stacked floor to ceiling with them. Only $0.50 yes fifty cents each. Oh to have knowledge then as I think I have now. Also I remember going to Kresge's, (now K-Mart). For 2 bucks you got a model, paint brush, glue, and paints. Anyone remember this one. The old Monogram 49'ers.
  16. A while back I was looking for a builder to do a Jeff Gordon stockcar for a cancer fundraiser. Lee Loggins over at Scale Racing Lobby stepped up and volunteered. Here is the results. It will be auctioned off in a silent auction. The friend who the benefit for has T-Cell Lymphoma, but is recovering nicely so far.
  17. I only do what my Rice Krispies tell me to do.
  18. The original release of the 63 Ford Galaxie kit had a black sheet that was flocked. On the rear of it was patterns for guiding you to cut inserts for the seats. I also remember the tubes of putty in the old 3-1 kits from AMT. The Crusin' USA kits had a 2 part putty that came with them. Also a lot of the kits back then came with press on white wall tire rings on a sheet.
  19. Going on 53 years now. Never really stopped. Just change subject matter now and then is all.
  20. I started on the kitchen table. Later moved to a friends basement. Then took over a room in our basement. When I got married for the first time. Living room coffee table, then a desk in the bedroom. Later a full basement again. Currently now have 1/2 the basement here with the current wive. Also slowly creeping into parts of her side.
  21. if this is waht you mdo when bored, I'd love to see what you do when motivated. EXCELLANT.
  22. Nicely done. Great work on the tarp.
  23. I use parts bins. For the bigger things. Like tubing styrene shhet, etc. And lots of plastic shoe boxes.
