Remind me of Chuck Doans work. Fantastic detail. -
Yeah Doc I can relate. Of the two I know of,( been driving truck for 35+ years) LOL, the oldest got married last summer. The younger one is on her own now, and doing fine. Just me and Mama in the house. Kind of funny, a few years back we got a new trailer for the lake place. When we had the kids it was a 16 footer, than a 21 ft., and then a 27 ft. Now we have a 40 foot paradise, and it's just the two of us. The thing is like a second house.

50 Years of Matchbox
Mercman replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Will have to dig them up, and get pics. As for the set that is what the colledctors book listed the value at with all 5 pieces separate. They will go to my kids, as I have no plans on selling them. -

I still have my first one I bought with my own money. Also have a historic set, now worth over $3,000.00' 5 vehicles in the set. -
Surgery update, everything is fine, no problems, or infections we caught it early. She'll be on anti-biotics for 10 days, with a 24 stay in the hosp. Thanks for all of your thoughts guys we appreciate them. PS-- the mouse will be going soon.

Thanks guys for all the thoughts. This particular weekend seems to be plagued by bad luck for us. One year the the wife broke her nose in a accident, this year she has a busted big toe to deal with. Last years a couple days before, I thought I had a heart attack. Now this year this. I think I'm going back to my real love of music, Rock and Roll. Never had any problems then. Gotta be at the surgery center mat 5:30 this AM.

Forgot to mention she's 24 Y.O.

You all know the old saying the "best laid plans of mice and men". Well it's true. The family, wife, and kid, had planned had planned to go to this music festival, however that is now on hold. The kid has to go in and have surgery. Nothing really major, but shouldn't be postponed due to it could be. She was packing up her gear last night for the trip, and one of her pets bit her on the finger, yeah it was a mouse. Well a few hours after the bite, her finger swelled up to the size of a polish sausage. Sooooooo at 2:30 this AM I had to take her into the ER to be checked. This morning after a follow up visit, she now goes in for surgery on Fri. This is the preventive part. They are going to open the finger up, and scrape, and flush it out, to prevent any infection. She could wait to see what happens, but the possibility of it spreading up further into her arm, would mean more areas to be opened. She feels so bad that this happened, and we will have to miss the festival. Toby Kieth, and Alabama are 2 of the 3 headliners. I assured her it was no big deal. That and she really wanted to see this one performer so badly. Oh well whats a father to do? I told her that this is my job, to take care of her, but it still bugs her that she thinks she ruined my weekend. So just a bit of advice watch your pets, and kids, who knows what may happen. Like the one country song says, I don't care if your 80 your still my baby.

Who else has this problem

The Wally world store has plastic pencil boxes that are large enough to store all sorts of parts on sale now for back to school. I think they are around $0.50. -
Like the Doc I quit e-baying also. However I think my best score was a 49 Merc, built in 1963 for the Revell Model contest. Came with a copy of the entry form for the contest. Paid a whole $8.00 for it.

Yeah needed a break to get the creative juices flowing again. Also it's been to humid to pour scale concrete.

As for the street scene I got detoured into building Monster models. Look in the misc. builds thread. I am making progress on it though with some work being done on this. Here is a interior shot with some cabinets I designed. Also the floor is now painted, not transparent like in this pic. And a shot of the shop. I did get it painted, but now have to locate all of the interior goodies for it, and build some more pieces.

Looks great Tony. One pump is all she needs. Maybe a oil can rack. -

Yes it is, you're quite right. I didn't get the name plate on it. The kit I used is the polar Lights re-issue. Nice to put together with little cleanup, for a mold that old. This kit is the Lon Chaney version of it. Here is a resin version of the Charles Laughton character. -
Hobby Shops in Fargo, North Dakota and area?
Mercman replied to robertw's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was at one time. Now if he's into 1/87th scale. However I'll be at the lake this weekend working on a new creation. Hobby Hut would be the place to go. Mark is the owner, and a nice guy to work with.
