  1. Here are just a few of what I have started. Since this pic was taken probably added 15-20 more, plus vehicle builds all in 1/87th.
  2. Okay I'm old, as last weekend I went to see Tommy James, and the Shondell's. We paid 10.00 for seats, and were in the back row which is fine with me, closer to the bar LOL. Then as the show started a gal offered us an upgrade to better seats. Front Row center. I was 8 feet away from the stage.
  3. The costs weren't to bad, but with all these new laws , Invasive species act, and trying to get on a lake it was a bugger. As for models I just placed a $100.00 order today at my LHS. The balance is in the bank for a trip in Jan-Feb next year.
  4. During the summer months I do most of building at the lake place. However fishing was cutting into my build time. So what's a person to do? Well I did this I sold my boat, Now I can concentrate on building.
  5. Tony this is the stuff. You can get it at Michael's.
  6. Samething I got for my birthday a homemade card from my kids. They are 34 and 24, and both great artists in their own right. I would prefer this to a store bought card. Also I have just about everything I need, and if I don't I by it myself.
  7. Rob correct me if I"m wrong but did you guys show the beach dio at NNL North a few years back? I remember seeing it there at the old Thunderbird. If this is the one. You could spend hours looking at all of the details.
  8. Tony I love the work you've done. Looking good.
  9. This is the Bates Mansion kit from Polar Lights. Bought, and put this one together last summer. Finally got some paint on it. Still not sure how I'll display it yet. Gave it a gray base coat, then covered it with the wood crackle. When dried I top coated with light ivory. Between the boards I just used a lead pencil to highlight them a bit. Then proceeded with the trim. Now it's onto the roof, and the base foundation.
  10. Your sure that wasn't a Long Island Iceed Tea? Neat pics, I saw the images too.
  11. It's a Road Runner not a Charger. The paint is called a spider web job. I did this to replicate a local car from back in the 70's here in Fargo. Pumped gas into it many times at the station I worked for.
  12. Here's a pic of a jigsaw puzzle I did. Make for a great diorama. Rumor has it Moeibus is releasing Mel's Drive-In in 1/87th scale.
  13. How about Kruzin the local Drive -In.
  14. Thats half the fun. I always check flea marketrs, and when the wive, and daughter go to garage sales they call me with what they find.
  15. Started on the interior of the new shop this weekend. Here are the work counters and storage lockers. Decided to have a few open drawers also. Everything thing is plastruc, and basswood. Also got this assembled for the shop. Nice little kit highly recommended. Ramps can be up or down.
  16. I have 3 of them 2 for regular work, the other is just for soldering. They do come in handy. (no pun intended).
  17. My MOm helped me build mine. I did the same thing with it in the tub. Found out it was out around 56-58 release.
  18. I know this isn't a model car but need help. Picked this up this weekend for $10.00. Mint sealed. Just wondering when it was released. I built it over 50 years ago as a kid, so am reliving mu childhood. It's made by the Ideal Toy Co.
  19. Progress is forthcoming. Got the base cut from plexiglass. Mockup of the walls. Then cut the doors.
  20. I too drive for a living, and got to agree most of the people out there today have their heads hidden. As for plans, Nephew graduates, then down to the lake place, where I will get some modeling time in.
  21. The same reason I build these. I was influenced by the art of Ed Roth as a kid, used to recreate his pics from the postage stamp size pics in the ads in Hot Rod, rod and Custom way back when. They are fun little novelty builds. back when I started modeling we could buy models 1/32nd scale from Mono for 49 cents.
  22. Sam that looks good. Kindof like almost being there.
