    Ok, for 99% of you, this will probably be a stupid question, but I need some guidance here. I often see engines wired in two ways – from the distributor directly into the valve covers or from the distributor into a location just under the valve covers and, I believe, directly into the engine block. My question is this – is there a hard and fast rule for one method or the other? I seem to see the wiring direct into the valve covers more on drag racing vehicles. I know I could just Google it, but what if I don’t know exactly what type of engine I’m using in a given model? I’m just starting to flirt with the idea of doing some wiring and I want to make sure I get it right. Thanks!!

    Mark - I already dropped it in the IPA and most of the black and silver is gone. The guys were right - it takes it off quite fast. Your 78 car looks phenomenal!

    Does anyone know if there was any significant difference between the 2001-2 and 2003-4 versions (essentially the Bill Elliott kit vs. the Ryan Newman kits)? I have both at home in CT, but I'm in Ohio right now so I can't do a comparison. I don't recall them being different in any way.

    I know this has been asked before - How do you strip the factory finish off of these? I found a Dale Jr. Chevy for about $9 but would prefer to do a different car.

    I have to say, I've really enjoyed the box art on many of the recent Moebius releases, particularly the stock cars. Whoever the artist is, he captures a real sense of motion with a hint of aggressiveness as well.

    And you would be 100% correct. The Chief was $23 (but to be honest, I had a $2 off coupon, so it was actually $25), the Jeep Wrangler was $25, and the '29 Ford was $27. I found the Jeep and the Aero Chief on a site named Mercari (I have it as an app on my tablet, but there is also a website). It's not like Ebay, it's more like Etsy or Letgo where you will occasionally find good deals if you check in often. I was sure that there would be some problem with the Aero Chief since it was so inexpensive, but everything is sealed inside, all has been accounted for, and even the decals are in good condition.

    No worries. There was also an article in one of the magazines on how to build them and overcome some of the common issues people had.

    It's well documented that the AM kits are a nightmare to build. Lots of fit issues.

    Based on the other replies here, I may be wrong, but I could swear that I once read that Tamiya chose 1/20 for their F1 kits only because they felt that 1/24-1/25 was just a bit too small. F1 cars were (and maybe still are) much much smaller than a regular car, so it may just have been an aesthetic choice for Tamiya anyway.

    Yeah, I did miss all of that. That's crazy - both of those were insanely popular kits. I was wondering why they seemed to have just disappeared. I'm glad that I at least got one of each!

    I'm seeing these selling for $45 or more. Was there a short run on these when they came out? I have one but was considering getting a second.

    Be sure to check the Clearance sections, which are almost always in the back of the store to the far left or right. Also, several stores have had heavily discounted kits in shopping carts right up front when you walk in.
