  1. What do you mean when you say a "short shot?"
  2. I think it's pretty cool!
  3. I think the most I ever paid was about $120 for the Tamiya 1/12 Yardley McLaren F1 kit.
  4. I got carried away at NNL East yesterday.
  5. That is beautiful work!!
  6. This gasser is a must buy for me!
  7. My apologies if this has already been posted. I found this on Hobby Link Japan's site and thought you all might be interested. - Dan
  8. Thanks! I needed to finish something. I've been away from the bench for too long.
  9. It only took 4+ months but I finally completed this very basic but also very fun kit. It is low on detail, but the end result is a nice model for the shelf! I recommend one, particularly if you have a 40% coupon. I should mention that it didn't take me 4 months to build it, life just kept getting in the way of any real modeling.
  10. Not every deal is great, but you can sometimes find a good one. I do have a Prime membership and yes, it helps.
  11. Dammit, I really need to stop logging in with the wrong ID.
  12. Always remember the wise words of Mr. Garrison as he addressed his South Park elementary school class: "Remember children, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people."
  13. It's funny how sometimes things just seem to align perfectly and work out for you. I recently purchased AMT's '65 and '66 Riviera kits and wanted to get the '69. I found it at a local shop for $45 and also found a few on eBay for various prices. I occasionally check Amazon Warehouse Deals for good prices on kits, and scored a damaged box Aoshima chopper kit for much much less than I had seen it on other sites. I popped over today, checked for model kits, and lo and behold - an AMT '69 Riviera in damaged box for $21. How weird is that?? It was one of maybe 3 or 4 car kits currently available (there is a Surfite kit for about $20 also there). I have bought other items through Warehouse Deals. They're almost always damaged box items and in each instance, the contents themselves were absolutely fine. I recommend it to all of you as another option when looking for new kits!
  14. I felt like that finally happened by the end of the 90's / early 2000's. Even the Taurus and the Monte Carlo were distinct enough that you could easily tell them apart. I do like the current Camaros and Mustangs that they're driving - they're not entirely distinct, but I think they look pretty cool.

    TRANS AM!

    I love this. Great job!!
  16. Moebius is really knocking it out of the park with everything they put out. I have to believe that Revell and Round 2 are recognizing this and I hope it leads to more risk taking on their part. I got tired of Mustangs and the same old GM and Mopar kites so many years ago.
  17. I just checked the email again. The #3 David Pearson is available as well as the #6 Cotton Owens.
  18. Southern Motorsports Hobbies already has some sheets for other versions of the '61 Pontiac.
  19. I've had this happen and was able to replace the metal axle with a plastic rod. Hollow out the wheels where the rod is inserted to accept the thickness of the plastic part, glue one side in place then slide it through and then glue it to the other wheel. It should be fine.
  20. That is just crazy. But in a good way!!
  21. I didn't feel bad about getting these cheap. They were on clearance already and the store made the mistake. I legitimately thought they were 79 cents each and got pretty psyched about buying a bunch of them.
  22. They know they goofed. In CT, there is a law that if they mislabel something, they have to honor the price. The manager probably changed the price tags immediately after I left. She wasn't too happy about selling me roughly $60 of paint for a third of that!
  23. Chris, every one of these scanned at 1.99 or 2.99, so check again. They may be discounted but not marked as clearance. I would think all Michaels would have consistent pricing.
  24. Come to NNL East in April. Model King has their own section and you can get everything there!
  25. I stopped into Michaels in Wilton, CT last night and found pre-thinned bottles of Aztek paints on clearance for 2.99 each. There were only 3 colors marked down so I figured I'd grab them and see how they lay down. On my way home from work tonight, I decided to check Michaels in Stamford to see if they had any different colors. Well, someone wasn't paying attention and put 79 cents clearance tags in front of ALL of the Aztek paints. I got all of these for about $20.
