  1. Your GTO came out very well. I recently built that same kit. I thought that it was absolute junk! I finished it (for a club contest) but it went back in the box, never to be seen again! WF

  6. While not a '69, the car below shows that Oldsmobile bodies can be used in a Pro Mod or Outlaw application. Best bet would be to use one of the Revell "Pro Sportsman" kits for a donor chassis. WF
  7. Here is the engine pic. Unlike most (all) of my builds, this one has no wiring, fuel lines, battery cables, etc.. Just wanted to get it off od my bench!
  8. This one is done! I think that it may be my only completed build of 2013. The only thing left to do is paint and install the air cleaner. I'll post an engine photo as soon as I finish painting the air cleaner. I used a marker "brush pen" to do the class and car number. It kinda looks like shoe polish. I was so afraid that I would slip and mes up the glass. One thing that I really wanted to do was to put Goodyear Front Runners on the Weld wheels but I could not find them. I found 3 sets today!
  9. I did this one in memory of the original issue kit that I did as a kid. I loved that model. Don't know whatever happened to it but I was ecstatic when it was re-released. I just had to build a replica. I had more and better pictures but Fotki took them on vacation to wherever the hell they are going. WF
  10. Some Funny Cars of that era ( ie: Bruce Larson's '68 Camaro) actually had operational driver's doors. Funny Car bodies of the late '60s were molded directly from passenger cars and the panel lines would be quite evident on the fiberglass body. I agree with Chris. That kit is a real challenge. Mine got the better of me and was never completed. Chris's Cougar looks great. WF

  13. One nice detail in this kit is the turn signal lamps. A little dab of amber paint on the back of the lense and it looks like a 1157A bulb is in there!
  14. I had a bear of a time trying to get the body and chassis to mate. There was at least 1/16" gap between the inner fenders and the chassis rails. Due to poor fitment, molding, warpage, or a combination of the three, I could not get the parts to glue together. I had to come up with a way to get this done or the car would just look stupid! No glue needed. I pinned the frame to the body! I drilled two .060" holes through the front of the chassis and right through the lower radiator and slid plastic rod through both holes! Perfect! No glue needed! The front bumper hides the pins almost perfectly. WF P.S. Did I mention that the kit decals were terrible? Well, they're terrible!

  16. I have not been able to post anything here for a looong time. The drag racing season here in the North East is finally over and I finally found some time to try and finish up this car that I planned for the another boards' Junior Stock build. I think that I missed the deadline. Going to finish it anyway as it will most likely become a Christmas gift. The plan is to make the Monogram '70 Road Runner into a C/S, 440 6bbl Stock Eliminator car ala 1970-1971. Wanted to paint the car B5 blue but could not find it in a can. I picked up some Testors Bahama Blue as it seemed close enough. I think it looks very close! Headers, skinny slicks, a tach. and not much else. WF

  18. Great job on one of my favorite 1:1 funny cars! One of the things that you did to capture the realism was to remove all chrome from the model. Looks terrific. WF

  20. That flake is crazy! Headers are very cool as well. Me? I'd go with a cross ram and smaller carbs. But that's just my liking. WF
  21. Here is another. The original version. It still need a passenger seat and front fenders to make it a legal Street Roadster. Never did like the purple paint, so........ I made it green! I found some front fenders from a old AMT '32 Ford kit, added another seat, and made it legal. The front headlights (required by NHRA rules) were cut from the front bumper of a Revell Hemi 'cuda. These are great race cars that are often overlooked by builders. I gotta build some more of them! WF
  22. Here is a '29 Ford that I built a long time ago. It's meant to be a street/strip/car show warrior from the mid sixties: The engine is a 340 Mopar made to look like a triple carbed Oldsmobile. WF
  23. I hope that you had fun building that car because I had fun checking it out! One of my favorite race cars for many reasons not the least of which is that I was at National Speedway the day that Leroy Goldstein made the first recognized six second pass.
  24. Well done! You did a terrific job on the body. The foil work must have taken some real effort. Did you leave the hood up in the rear on purpose? That is how we would get fresh air to the carbs on the non-scooped cars. The tech guys frowned upon it but we all did it anyway! WF
  25. A 255hp 350 can run in F,G,or H Stock. As far as the Holley carb. being installed backwards.......it's not legal for Stock anyway!
