  1. One of my favorites, and it’s on my build list, very cool build!
  2. Very cool build Wayne!
  3. Looks great Michael, your display case must be getting full.
  4. I spent the day in the garage working on this, it’s almost finished. I remember ads in 1960s Hot Rod magazines advertising Cal Custom metal flake steering wheels in red, blue, green and silver, so in keeping in theme I painted the steering wheel metal flake Red. I added fuel lines to the injector as well as Champion Spark plug decals to the valve covers. I added the rear shocks and painted them. The next photos will be in Underglass. I need to paint under the hood, add the door handles and a few touch ups.
  5. I like the injectors, looking good!
  6. Hey Ron, I have these, I think with a little work they could be made to work. Your welcome to them. PM me with your address and I’ll mail them to you.
  7. Valve covers look accurate! Any idea on the wheels yet??
  8. Thanks Donato, it’s so close too, I just need a little bench time.
  9. It’s from my parts box, I think it might have been from the Monogram Hurst Hairy Oldsmobile kit, as I have two of them.
  10. Looking great, looks like your getting some bench time.
  11. I know, Right! It’s been painted 3 days, and I still haven’t touched the paint. I just pick it up on the stand and look at it.
  12. Lookin good
  13. That’s a lot of engineering goin on there, looking great.
  14. Clear coat came out great, I may not even polish it, decals stayed in place. I’m so ready to move forward on this one.
  15. Hey Ron I love your sanding blocks. Mike is running a power glide transmission now. For what it’s worth.
  16. Your very welcome, let me know if you need something.
  17. Too funny Zippi!
  18. Here’s what I took earlier this year, there in no particular order. I can probably get you more just let me know what you need.
  19. Cool project, I met Mike about a year ago, he’s a super nice guy! His shop is in the same complex I work in. I was in the warehouse working and I heard a race motor start. I ran out of the warehouse and followed the noise. He had recently built a Quadrajet carburetor for a customer and was testing it on his Nova. It’s a very cool car. I too have thought of building this model and giving it to him.I’m following. I have taken some photos of the car if you need them. He wheels seem to be the biggest obstacle.
  20. A man after my own heart, keep posting!
  21. I agree with you, older race cars were usually hand lettered by sign painter’s using One Shot Enamels. I normally like to clear the graphics, and add sponsors decals after the clear, and in the past I have had no issues with this process. I normally use Testors enamel paint under the clear. I have been watching YouTube videos and everyone raves about the Tamiya paints so I decided to try it. I guess I don’t like things getting the best of me, and so I’ve continued with the Tamiya paint. Now I’m wishing I had painted it this last time with the Testors. The Tamiya lacquer is too hot for my antique Johan plastic, and it has a fine etching into the plastic again. I was able to sand most of it out but the white has to have a clear coat to make it look good. I’m using Splash 2K clear, and I’m going to go slow and easy with the coats of clear. I was hoping the Tamiya paint would work out as it’s much thinner than Testors enamel and I wouldn’t loose as much detail on my builds, but at this point I may just go back to what I know works.
  22. I love this type of build, coming along nicely!
  23. Came out very nice, great work!
  24. Thanks Zippi, I’m working up the courage to clear it?
