That’s just gorgeous! I’ve always wanted to build the red #72 champ car, great inspiration! -
60s cars were so beautiful, your build is beautiful as well.

I always liked the look of day two cars. As a young kid, you had to make the car yours and a change of wheels was usually the first change. Yours looks beautiful and I too love your color choice. Changing paint types, or manufacturers is always a challenge as I recently learned.

Very nice, I love the simplicity of the old kits, and they build into accurate looking builds. You’ve captured the look. Cool build!

You don’t see this kit built stock very often, beautifully done.

Very cool build Wayne!

Looks great Michael, your display case must be getting full. -
I spent the day in the garage working on this, it’s almost finished. I remember ads in 1960s Hot Rod magazines advertising Cal Custom metal flake steering wheels in red, blue, green and silver, so in keeping in theme I painted the steering wheel metal flake Red. I added fuel lines to the injector as well as Champion Spark plug decals to the valve covers. I added the rear shocks and painted them. The next photos will be in Underglass. I need to paint under the hood, add the door handles and a few touch ups.

I like the injectors, looking good!

Valve covers look accurate! Any idea on the wheels yet?? -
Thanks Donato, it’s so close too, I just need a little bench time.
-
It’s from my parts box, I think it might have been from the Monogram Hurst Hairy Oldsmobile kit, as I have two of them.
-
Looking great, looks like your getting some bench time.
-
I know, Right! It’s been painted 3 days, and I still haven’t touched the paint. I just pick it up on the stand and look at it.
-
Lookin good

That’s a lot of engineering goin on there, looking great.

Clear coat came out great, I may not even polish it, decals stayed in place. I’m so ready to move forward on this one.

Hey Ron I love your sanding blocks. Mike is running a power glide transmission now. For what it’s worth. -
