Too windy and humid it paint the Hornet, so I concentrated on my 37 Chevy. I got a lot done on the motor new mock up photos.

I love what your doing here. This is a much overlooked kit in my opinion. It’s looking great!

Very cool! -
I stripped the body, then sanded any and all primer off, repaired the body work and it’s back in Tamiya primer. I’m trying to get my courage up, and some lower humidity and warmer weather before my third attempt.

Thanks Mike, it’s air brushed, both color and clear.

I’m loving you work! It’s gonna look great when finished.

The weather is starting to break here in Indiana so I’m getting a little bench time finally, I got some primer shot on the filled frame rails, and the body is polished.

Very cool builds, I like them!

Amazing detail, clean work, just beautiful! May I ask about your painting on the exhaust? -
Great work! Looks beautiful! I normally sant the primer down allowing it to fill small imperfections, then re-prime the areas of the body work. I sometimes have to do this a couple times but the end result is worth it.

Very cool project, great paint! -
The Tamiya paint crazed and bubbled. It’s back in the stripper.

Thanks Zippi, I sprayed the Hornet tonight with Tamiya RS 29, Pure White. Fingers crossed!

Very nice! I agree the kit leaves a lot to the imagination and builds into a good shelf model, but requires a lot of work too make an accurate representation of the real car. The first Vega had a stock front suspension with everything behind the firewall being replaced or fabricated. The picture above appears to be the stock suspension. By 1973 all the chassis and suspension was replaced. The big block Chevy motor always bothered me as MPC had many small blocks from other kits they could have used.

That’s such a cool old kit, you’ve done an excellent job on it, very beautiful! -
Thanks Scott, it’s primed again, and this time, no Clear over the decals!

Thanks Francis, I really appreciate the feedback from this forum. It’s setbacks that put some great builds back in the box never to be finished. Scott8950 put the repaint into perspective for me. I enjoy showing my builds at shows, I’ve won a few trophies mostly second and third places, but I don’t show them to win a trophy. I just want to share my build and perhaps make a contact with someone of similar interest. Let’s face it, there’s not a lot of model car builders out there and those that are, seem very quiet about it. Im definitely not on your level, or those of Clay Kemp or Jay Savarese ( hope I spelled the right), and probably never will be, and I’m ok with that! I enjoy the challenge and building something most people don’t have. This time, no clear over the decals!

I would love to find that wall paper. I think that its very cool that your parents would even do that for you. You were a blessed kid!
