I agree they look white in the photos. Nothing is written in stone.

For those of you that followed my Billy the Kid Demon build, you may recall that I stated I would build a couple out of the box builds before tackling another in depth build. So here’s what I’m working on now. The AMT 36 Ford has been around for many years, reissued in many different versions. A convertible, a three window coup, a five window coupe, and a chopped three window coupe. I have several of these kits including the original small box version. My favorite version of this kit is the one with the Gasser box art. This kit comes with a cardboard diorama of a drag strip. If my memory is correct, AMT also released similar kits including the 57 Chevy, and the 56 Ford. I decided I liked the 5 window version for my build and proceed to build it in 1960s gasser style. The roofs are separate in this kit and are notorious for poor fitting. I glued and clamped one side, and after it dried I glued and clamped the other. Doing it in this way kept bodywork to a minimum. I cut out the floor pans from the frame to remove the molded in exhaust. The kit comes with Flat Head and Pontiac engines, but I thought the AMT parts pack 427 would be better.

Hey Christopher, this is really a nice build, great details and execution! I’ve had this kit for several years now and your giving me inspiration to pull it out and build it. Thanks for posting!
