  2. WOW ..... Tyrone, thanks for sharing
  3. Why so many Kits? I've bought every kit with the intention of building it.. some of the older kits were very simplified such as the Johan 63 Dodge Polara, I purchased a Lindbergh Color me Gone 64 Dodge to use under the 63, But I also wanted to build a Color Me Gone 64 Dodge,so now I need at least two kits. Same with Polar Lights, or Revell Funny cars, take one of these kits and any resin Funny Car body, some aftermarket decals and you can replicate any number of early funny cars. I have also passed on kits earlier in my life only to later purchase them at collector prices, and thena couple years later, they reissue the kit and I've got a ton of money tied up in a kit, If I have any interest I try to buy it just in case, if later I decide I'm not going to build it I sell or trade it for something else.
  4. Mine is pretty easy... I like Drag Racing, from Stock classes to Top Fuel. I was lucky enough when I was younger to have crewed for a couple different local racers,a Fuel Altered, an Alcahol Dragster and then a Top Fuel Dragster.I did a lot of street racing back in the day, got in a lot of trouble, had a lot of tickets, Amazed I still alive. Thank God !
  5. After I got back into the hobby in the early 80s, kits were still cheap and I started buying them two of each kit. This is my model storage clost it s 14' X 6", what you dont see is that most of these boxes contain two of the same kit. In an effort to make more space I open and repack the box with two kits. theres over 700 kits here.
  6. What Fun... I Love It
  7. I Built my "office" in the lower level of my home. I live with three women and needed my own space, it measures 17'10" X 15'6" and has a closet that measures 14' X 6' I store my models in the closet. I left the floor concrete as it easy to find dropped parts and its easy to clean. Most of my paint in the metal cabinet hanging on the wall,I got from a gas station that was closing. By designing my model room as a bedroom, all I have to do is carpet the floor and it becomes a 5th bed room, [we did a similar work room for my wife also], adding value to my home. If I could give any advice it would be to sit down with paper and pencil, and list your needs and space and plan accordingly. Be creative afterall you are a model builder, just extend that creativity into your work space. Im not rich we are a single income family. I did the wall studs and drywall, electric was done by a friend, I hung the doors trim and painted, and I'm no carpenter. Hope this helps.

  13. Bob I went thru everything I had with no luck, I guess because Arnie did mostly match races there is very little coverage on this car.
  14. Bodyman/custom painter for 10 years, first wife nagged me into going into insurance as an auto damage appraised, 28 years later still doing it. I miss body work, I iwas very good at it and at the end of the day I could see what I accomplished.

  19. Beautiful
  20. My cousin Jack, lived across the street, and built model cars. he lined them up on his window sill and I was in awe looking at them. When I was 8 years old,we moved to another neighborhood. We only had one car and Dad had it with him at work,so we had to walk the twelve or so blocks to the local strip mall [10 stores] they had a S.S. Kresge there with a low lunch counter and best of all a wall full of models, Testors and Pactra paints and glue. My first kit was an AMT 64 Grand Prix,$1.49. I was hooked, I shoveled snow, mowed lawns and raked leaves. I priced my labor by the cost of kits. For $2.00, I could buy a kit for a $1.49, some glue or paint, or a Pepsi and a Suzie Q for $2.00, Those days are gone now. Looks like the Quzie Q may be gone too. Yes I am OLD
  21. Sorry this took so long, these are from Drag Racing USA Magazine,August 1972 Hope there clear enough and you can use them, I also might be able to color copy them and mail them to you.
  22. Way Cool, Keep Goin
  23. Just started following this build, looks great so far, love the scratch building. I'm learning so much, and even started trying some myself.......Just a thought here, did you think of asking Stephanie Rose how she would like it to look? Growing up in a house full of women and now married with two daughters, the one thing I've learned is they have very definate ideas of what they want and like.
  24. One of my favorite funny cars, looks great.
