  1. Working on a 2020 c8 that was hit in a parking lot.
  2. My friend gave me these enamel paints . Have not seen these in awhile. 1968 vintage so he says. Going to try it on a 60’s ford. Single stage. Kind of excited to see the results.
  3. Hello Nazdrave. Did you mount the body to the chassis? If so what complications did you have? Being a mfh kit, there usually is a problem of some kind. Let’s see your build please. Thank you
  4. Turned two rotors. Compared to the unturned rotors
  5. Completed packs 7 and 8. The horn is going to work. The accelerator pedal is going to make engine sounds and the brake lights will work. Seat belts work and the back seat folds up and down. Glove box opens. Steering works. . Mr Obsessive these are very big kits. Seems like this is like your kit with the super snake stuff. Waiting for the next pack.
  6. Fitting the interior floor pan. Had to drill more holes in the tube frame. Glad I fixed the frame as this pan would not fit. Have a little more confidence for the body to fit. But I know I will have to modify something. This step is way ahead of where I am now but if you do not fit it now, the future will be tough. Suspension next.
  7. Koni shocks.
  8. Thank you Deuces ll. Installed the pedals and mount. The pedals are cool.
  9. It works out when your frame is straight.
  10. I made a mistake and did not check the resin frame. Should have known but assumed it was straight. Was wondering why parts were not fitting right. The frame was twisted. Boiled water in a pan. Put the resin frame in and waited a few minutes. Pulled out and twisted it back into shape. Put on a tile to check for straightness. Now straight. Can continue.
  11. Thank you Chris. Going to take a very small break on the cobra and have to build pack 7 and 8 of the supersnake. Just a couple of days and I’ll be back on the cobra.
  12. The tires and wheels are now on the car. The car is on its tires. This model is huge! Mr. Obsessive where do you put these big things when they are done? The Super Snake is going to be very impressive. First 1/8 scale kit I have done. The DeAgostini Ford GT will be next. 1/8 also. And Mark has called me to ask if I would like to build the 1/8 Agora Cobra. If that happens I will repaint it and detail it the best I can. A Ford caravan of 1/8 scale cars. Crazy. Here are some more pics. The 37 ford is 1/25
  13. 1/8 scale on left, 1/12 scale on right. This car is going to be huge!!!!
  14. The tires are mounted. Was easier than I thought. Boiled water, shut off heat, put tires in for 3 minutes and a little dawn soap, mounted. Very easy when the tires are heated. Used a cloth because it’s hot. The detail on the tires are very good. The first prototype tires were bad. The production tires are great.
  15. Thank you beeRS . Thank you Mattilacken for the advice on the tires. Have a friend who works at a tire store. I will see him soon. Thank you Slimguy and yes the floor is carpeted.
  16. Cleaned up white metal parts, Put them into the polisher to remove mold release. Drilled out 48 holes. Check fit. Prime parts then paint trim black. Fit engine again. Always fitting. Try to stay about 5 steps ahead. But sometimes this is not enough.
  17. Yes sir! Extra drill bits. I will be doing the tires and wheels next. The tires look a lot better than the prototype. Just finished the interior minus the steering wheel. That will be a little later. I read your information Mr Obsessive on your tire installation. This one will need the same thing. Will need to heat the tire to fit over the rim. The thunder bolt tires look really good but it looks impossible to fit over the rim. Thank you for the information.
  18. I agree, please post your build! Every one learns something.
  19. Pack 7 and 8 arrived. Looks like I can finish the interior. Tires and wheels look good. The prototype tires did not look right but the tires in the kit look good. Looks like there is a exhaust system. Some brake parts. To be continued
  20. Ray , sir if you love cobras , and I know you do, this is the kit to get. I do not know what it is ,but when you are working on this kit ,it feels like your at Shelby American in L.A. 1966. It’s a hard kit but the results are worth it. Like it was hard to beat Ferrari. I’ve always wanted this car but it was always out of reach. So I’m building the car I wanted sooo bad as a kid. Black with black interior with sunburst wheels and of course, Goodyear tires. I remember the picture in my head of the unsold 427 cobras that we’re competition cars. Shelby could not sell them at the time. So he made them into SC cobras for the street. My cousin lived in Torrance and we watched cobras blast by his house. We were on our bicycles and thought I want one of those. So this build is more than a model for me. It’s the past memories and all of the emotions that go with this car. It’s a fun ,but very challenging build and I love every minute of it.
  21. Cleaned and sanded the frame. Drilled holes for all the brackets and various supports. Painted with acid etch primer. Then painted it with trim black. Temporarily mounted the motor and trans.
  22. Thank you Mattilacken. Thank you Crazyjim. Here is the transmission. The “ladder” chassis is next.
  23. Transmission next. The linkage to the trans are bent. Typical of a mfh kit. Going to straighten them out and paint them black. Set the engine and trans in the chassis. This car was just a engine and transmission wrapped in a aluminum skin. No wonder they were so fast.
  24. Hello great paint job! robertw is right. Fluorescent colors are very very transparent like a candy color. Painted my lotus 56. Tried grey primer and came out the same color you have. . Used a white primer and it came out the fluorescent red I needed.
