Thank you Dann. Your scratch build is most impressive. This is just a build, yours is a masterpiece. Fitting the inside panels. Trying to stay several steps ahead of the build, trying not to get caught off guard with something. But something always comes up on a mfh build Like missing a drill hole that you cannot get to. . Had some aluminum welding wire that will work as brake lines, hydraulic lines etc. all of this will take time .

Hello Nazdrave. I did look for the visors in the kit. And there was none. I also noticed that I have no street bumpers and no street dash board. I must have the total competition model. So I will make the visors and put in the competition dash, and no bumpers. Wanted more of a street car but that’s ok as I will adjust the build. It’s still a 427 cobra and I cannot complain about that.

Thank you guys for the wonderful comments. Sorry for the very very slow response. Just going over this thread and saw I did not even respond. . I was diagnosed with prostate cancer at this time and fell into a deep hole of depression. You guys are wonderful and thank you very much -

Very nice. -
Thank you Ray, Thank you Chris, Thank you Bruce. The instructions are funny. They give you the instructions but there is no glass. Or clear plastic. Have to find some clear plastic and I guess scratch build the visors and side wind deflectors. MFH kits. Crazy. And yes for the price they should have the plastic and , or a template or Something....

Thank you doorsovdoon. Well could not relax. Had to try the windshield. To me this is the hardest part of the build.Built some fillers for the windshield posts. Still have to make the visors and side wind deflectors. But the windshield is finished . Thanks to Tesa tape. nazdrave it can be done. Was extremely nervous . Here are some pics.

Thank you sir. Going to rest a few days on the project . Today was a day that the cobra wore me out. Took out the spine I made and fit the body, like a dozen times on and off. Time to rest and take a small break from her. Thank you for the support.

Fixed the spindles , this fitting the body to the chassis was a lot of work. Tweek this and tweek that. Body off and on a dozen times. I’m going to rest on this kit for a few days. Wearing me out. The body fit finally to my liking.

Put the body on the chassis. Good thing I checked. I have to make a adjustment to the front spindle. The tire sat too far in. I am going to machine a extension on the spindle. I adjusted the front tire/ wheel to this. Stance is much better. Starting to come around. MFH kits have these fun surprises.

The suspension assembly. The lower control arms have 4 holes each to drill. The upper arms have 3 holes to drill. And the spindles have 5 holes to drill. Cleaned the resin with dawn dish soap. Mfh uses a lot of mold release on their parts. Hope to have these prepped , painted today, then assembly tomorrow. The rear cage to the rear diff.was hard to do . Not because of the model, but I was having a all thumbs day. Some days are like that , so I just walked away. Better today I hope.

Thanks Phildaupho. The rear end. Looks like a caged animal. Did not want it to go anywhere. Changing the 3rd member looks like it would be fun. Every track was different. My GT350 had different gear ratios for different tracks. Had to drill 28 holes for this cage on the rear end. The rear suspension next.

By the way your clear is perfect. The color of the white stripes are also perfect. Wimbledon White. Some call it hounds tooth white. Your build is looking great

I’m going to learn a new technique on the windshield frame, My friend Mark is very very experienced in this metal. He is going to teach me “solder wiping”. Fills the imperfections in the white metal with solder and polished like it was chrome. Here is a example. The pieces that look like chrome are white metal that has been “solder wiped” sanded then polished. By the way , this is the level my buddy Mark is at. I’m still learning!

Very very cool!!!

By the way, your build is really really nice. Anyone who builds these kits has just as much patience as the pope. You cannot get mad at these parts and pieces. You need hours and hours of straightening, shaping and sanding the white metal. This is the prep work before you can even assemble anything. The white metal is a big problem for mfh kits. Although when you build it right it is very rewarding. The price is high for these kits and most people say it should just fall together. But they do not. Tamiya kits are the best for the buck as far as falling together and quality. But for realistic looks and a rewarding build, you cannot beat a mfh kit. Oh and that hood hinge is tough. It’s all messed up and you have to reshape it. What am I saying, most of the white metal parts are all messed up. Thank you for sharing. Great job on your cobra.

Hello nazdrave I am going to use this clear double sided tape. I used it on my Ferrari P4 . Used the tape on my headlight covers. Cannot even tell. Hope it works as well on the windshield. Going to do the rear suspension then I will give the windshield a shot. Here is a pic of the tape. And a pic of the headlight covers. Hope this helps.

Man that looks great!! On the doors, I was not going to do anything as far as interior panels. They were options on the original car. My buddy Mark has no interior door panels on his Original 289 cobra. Because I really did not know what to do , I was not going to have them. The windshield is another matter altogether. I might have something that might work. I’m going to polish the frame as best as one can and not turn it into a pretzel. I have some automotive clear double sided tape that is very strong that I use . I will try it and if it works I’ll let you know. I’m doing the suspension first then I’ll jump to the windshield I am wondering if it will turn out. I’ll keep you posted.

Thank you RandyC. These are big models! I’m building the 1/8 ford GT, Then that’s it for the big 1/8. Working on a mfh cobra and Porsche 917/30, then that’s it for the expensive kits. After that going back to 1/25. - 1/24. Have a 1/25 32 ford I need to finish
