Thank you Mr Onsessive for helping on the doors. They are a pain. Need to shim the hinges and maybe enlarge the holes to move the doors forward a bit. You are right, the doors are floppy.

Most of the body on the supersnake. Things went well. The doors are a little troublesome. Just mounted them but they need work. The guards blue stripes are very fragile. I scratched the roof but was able to match the paint and repainted the stripes. So far a fun model. Now if I can fix these doors.

DeAgostini 1/8 scale 1967 Shelby GT 500 FINALLY done!

Looks very good. Great job! Just did my body and have to work on the doors. I see what you mean on the doors. I just hung my doors and they do need work. The Toyota 2000 GT was so much better. But I do remember I had to readjust them also. Great job and thank you for the build information. Here is a few pics of the super snake body so far. -

Thank you Phildaupho. A few years ago , I also did not know of such big models. My friend Mark introduced me to a DeAgostini Toyota 2000 GT. I built that and things kind of took off from there.

Thank you Carl, Thank you Roger U, Thank you ChrisR and Thank you Drodg. RogerU the body is styrene. Just like any other kit but the plastic is thick. The race body is clear lexan. You have to paint both bodies. Usually DeAgostini kits come prepainted but not this one. I read on a few forums that people complain about painting the display body. It is big so a airbrush would not work. You need a spray gun. But the kit is a blast to assemble. Here are a few pics of the body before painting. Thank you guys for the comments.

DeAgostini Red Bull RB7 F1 car. 1/7 scale. It is a rc car but can be built as a static kit. The kit has 2 bodies , one for racing and one for display. I will be running this car this spring. But as of now it’s a display model. Cool kit . It is BIG. Needed a spray gun to paint the body. No airbrush here. Thank you Mark and DeAgostini for the model. I used a iwata lph 400 spray gun. And automotive water based paint. The clear I used was acme urethane clear. It is a lot cheaper to buy and it works just about as good as a expensive urethane. The decals were thick and a little tough to put on. But I’m not good at decals so it was the hard part for me. The red and white f1 car is a 1/24 revell Toyota f1 car to show a size reference. Hope you like.

P.S. The Yorkie will not be on the DeAgostini site.

The Red Bull car is finished. There will be glamour shots tomorrow and I will post it as finished. Was a fun and exciting build. The car is a good representation of the Red Bull F1 car. This car is not a exact copy of a car in a certain race etc. A whole new set of building skills for a Model so large. Thank you to Mark and DeAgostini for the model. This car will be on the DeAgostini site.
