  6. Old stereo cabinet. Free, holds my 1/8 cars nicely.
  7. The poor Honda had a traveling problem. I took her to one of our model meetings and during the ride the right rear suspension broke. So it did not even come out of the box. Took her home for repairs and found out that both front shocks and the upper suspension arm broke. Took it apart and put very small brass rods to reinforce the parts. And CA with activator. The Tamiya suspension could not hold the mfh parts. Too heavy. But it’s now fixed and traveled to my friend Marks house to test shipment. / travel. It passed and all is good. I can now take her to the NNL West.
  8. Thank you Pierre
  9. Received something pretty cool today. Might have to put the 935/78 on hold again.

    PINTO!

Cool little pinto. In 1985 I needed a car for work. I had a friend that works in the post office. They had over 100 pintos they were auctioning off. All white with a 2.3 and automatic. Service records were on the front seat. It had 35,000 miles and I bought it for $800. Had that car for over 12 years. Put over 100,000 miles and she was still running strong. I could leave the keys in her as no one would steal her. I donated that car to a couple in church one day. They had it for at least 5 years. I really liked that car. I had to buy the amt kit. It’s a 77 but it’s close enough to my 80. I remember putting away $300 a month for 12 years like a car payment. Then I had enough to buy a car cash. Never had a car payment since.
  11. The guy was Dino Martin. Dean Martins son
  12. Seriously, I was a kid riding my bike with my cousin on sunset boulevard and saw the most stunning car ever. We sat by the car and a guy came out and said please don’t touch the car. We said ok and this is the coolest car ever. We just sat there and looked at the car. We never saw anything like it before. Then I saw it in motortrend magazine. Here is the pic in the magazine. The color is fly yellow. Oh and the car is beautiful also.
  13. This is also my toy. All in definition. I love toys, all kinds. I could care less what people think.
  14. Fitting the engine and trans. I will be painting the chassis a light pearl blue with the tubes orange. So this will take awhile. A lot of masking. All of the tubes will be painted orange. I believe this will make the engine compartment and interior look very cool. A lot of work but I believe it will be worth it. Claude made a great suggestion on the rear shape of the rear wheel opening. Make it more round like the front. I am going to do this as it will make the body look more uniform. There is a lot of room to cut the rear. But I’m going to lake a different rear wing and see if that will make it look better. Claude suggested that if I shape the wing to conform to the body it might make it look better. I’ll try that before I cut her apart. Thank you Claude for the great ideas. I knew the design studio would come thru with great ideas.
  15. Since it’s a “ what if build”, I was looking at the rear of the car and the wing and long tail just looks odd to me. So I asked Claude for some tips to make it look better as a model. So I will be experimenting with cardboard paper to see how it looks. Maybe that’s why they called her Moby dick.
  16. I saw this and bought it today. it looked cool. Totally resin and curbside. Has photoetch and aluminum parts. Tires are rubber. Strange only one door opens. I have never seen this kit or the company before. The resin has a few pin holes but things seem to fit good. 1/24
  17. Looks fantastic. !
  18. Agora is a good company. I built the cobra, supersnake, Mercedes Gullwing and the Miura. Loved them all. You have to model the Miura. Here are pics of some . Mercedes is a work in progress. I repaint them. I left the Miura paint alone because I was told to. I build for the west coast USA agora rep. Agora has very excellent models.
  19. Thank you Dave.
  20. Ok starting this one again. Layed her out and looks as if I’m going to have to paint the chassis, mask all the tubes for the frame. Since this is a what if, I’m going to paint her a light pearl blue with orange to look like the gulf colors. The framing will be painted orange. It will take some time and a lot of tamiya tape. Here we go again
  21. Maybe we should have a 2.5 liter and under category. That would be fun.
  22. Nothing to be ashamed about that. Beautiful build. We sometimes look at the Ferraris, cobras , etc but these so called lesser cars are pretty cool. When I was a kid I was fortunate to watch the trans am series in the late sixties and early seventies. I liked the mustangs , Camaros, cuda etc but the 2.5 cars were super fun to watch. And to drive these cars in real life are a fun time. Back then I was a lucky kid. I worked in a body shop and could afford a boss 302. $2300. But I saved up for a Datsun 510. Made it like a bre car and actually had more fun with that. Fast forward to today, I have a C6 corvette but I have a 1.5 liter 1985 crx si. I love to drive that si. It’s more fun to drive on the streets. Meaning the smaller and less expensive cars are great also. This is a great build so nothing to be ashamed about.
