  1. Received more parts. Stripped the rear wheels, sanded and polished. Put the rear shocks on. The brake lines also. The body sits on the frame nicely. The bodywork is comming along . I’m sanding and blocking all the time. Till I’m satisfied with the preparation. Painted one of the hoods, the result is very nice. Will be painting the body soon. I just bought a Honda element with very low miles for an extremely low price. . I’m repainting it. So that’s taking most of my time. Here is the Mercedes so far.
  2. Great job!!! The side mouldings are very fragile. Yours came out great. Very cool build.
  3. Beautiful sir, another beauty from Curt. Will I see this at the NNL west?
  4. Thank you Pierre, trying to get thru this build. I have a friend that turns a sows ear and turns the kit into a silk purse. So this is what I’m trying to accomplish. My friends fun is when he takes a $5 kit and wins a contest with it. This is his fun in modeling. He has already won most contests and has this new challenge. It seems to be working. He is always in the magazine for the NNL west and always places in a IPMS contest. It’s his way of keeping interest in the hobby. Nothing wrong with that.
  5. Yes, wood and brass sheets.
  6. This is a kit I bought yesterday at the Fremont model contest. Before plastic. I’ve never seen one. Never going to build it , bought it just to add to the collection.
  7. AMT Ferrari 250 swb. Just mixed up some green out of toners. Fujimi wire wheels. Took a long time to get this body acceptable. The kit body is really off but trying to make make it work.
  8. I saw this car run! Fantastic job!
  9. Very cool build!!!!!
  10. Sooooo true!!!! I miss the old days where you had to think.
  11. Safety has changed for the better. I was watching a car factory video in the 60’s and no one was wearing spray masks. Just shooting paint with no protection. Lung cancer? What’s that? But on the flip side I think we have too much safety information on cars that it can be distracting. Like big screens for information in cars. My friend bought a new Volvo and just to get the heater to work you have all of these apps to get thru. Keeps your eyes on the screen , not the road. He already had several close calls because of technology. And all of the sensors on cars? I’m in the body shop industry and how come with all of the sensors and safety, I have more work than I can handle. Lack of common sense? I don’t know. Mike Rowe says safety 3rd. I believe him. We need people that take chances, fighterjocks , race car drivers , etc , I’ll stop here as i can keep this up forever. Just my humble opinion.
  12. Thanks Codi. I’m starting it up again.
  13. Thank you Ace Garageguy. On my second try on the main wings. Takes a little to get used to.
  14. Comparing the f-16 to the p51. The modern technology is amazing. The size of the p51 is small to the f 16, and the f16 is a small fighter in today’s world.
  15. Anyway you guys were right about him… here is the foiled experiment. I tried it several times to learn how to apply it. You have to stretch the foil . Without ripping it. I’m going to try to heat the foil a little. To repair aluminum on autos you need to preheat the panel. So I’ll try this.
  16. Very nice color.
  17. By the way this did take it all at the IPMS Telford event.
  18. Fitting fuselage. Air fix is not a tamiya kit. You have to make things fit,
  19. Don’t worry, I’m doing it my way
