  1. 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso. Nocchiola. Translates , hazelnut for the color. WIP
  2. Foiled . This part is a part of modeling I really have to be careful. One slip of the knife………
  3. Thank you sir.
  4. Color sanding the body. 2000 grit wet and dry. Getting rid of the clear buildup on the door and trunk area. Rubbing the body out with a very fine compound from auto manic. First rub out. I will rub several more times to try to get a perfect as possible finish.
  5. Thank you Greg. I understand about mfh kits. My friend and great model builder , Phil says it’s the most expensive scratch built kit ever. He is a national IPMS winner and great builder. He had built one and he said that’s it. I’ve had enough. I will build them but only the cars I really dreamed of in my childhood. I have built a few now so I understand the build. The instructions are like just a guide, and you have to really investigate the instructions. They are a really difficult build. When I built my 427 mfh cobra, it took a year to build it. I do build a 1/25 or 1/24 in between mfh kits just to get my wits back.
  6. Thank you Perry
  7. Thank you Ray
  8. Thank you Bruce
  9. Here is a Ferrari 275 in Nocchiola. Mine looks more like this.
  10. Just looked up what nocchiola translates into. Hazelnut. Makes sense. Just painted her and she came out great. Soon as she dries I’ll put the body on the chassis for a pic. And boy is she hazelnut.
  11. Great job! I had a 1966 also. But vintage raced it so it had a few miles, great no nonsense cars. These cars made you feel great. Bought mine for $800 in 1979. Blown engine and crashed in the front. Fixed everything and owned it for many years. A dentist in San Francisco bought it and I soon learned what capital gains taxes were. Could have bought a very nice low mileage 66 Shelby GT350 for $10,000 in 1985. But passed it up. Oh well at least I had the very used one. Here is a pic of my real one. Great job on the model! You did a fantastic job on it. I love the red konis on your car.
  12. There is a book out “All corvettes are red” about the guys and girls that make the corvette. You might like it. There was a meeting on the corvette to determine what colors they’re supposed to be. It was taking a very long time as they were arguing about it. Finally after a very long time the director said “ what’s taking so long?” The committee said they could not decide. The director said “ All corvettes are red and the rest are mistakes, let’s get on with it!” Still remember that quote to this day. So I agree with you on color. Here is mine
  13. Great tool. I received one as a gift a few years ago and use it all the time. It’s actually indexed pretty good for a plastic drill. Had to fix the trigger a few days ago but for often I use it , it’s a great tool.
  14. Received more parts today. Should be all the parts. Just placed the rear and front ends on the car. Try to get it finished .
  15. Thank you Ray.
  16. Thank you Pierre
  17. Thank you beeRS. Here is a pic of the other side.
  18. Ok, after a day of frustration on the front suspension, it’s built. Nothing fits at all. Had to bend the A arms forward to get the tires to sit in the fender correctly. Cut the springs. Typical model factory hiro. My fellow modeler Phil, put a hiro kit together and said NO MORE! And he is a national IPMS champion. He said it was the most expensive scratch built kit he has ever bought. And today I believed him. Fought this front suspension. It was off on everything. But I was not going to give up. Finally the way I want it. Now take it all back apart and paint the front suspension. I’m sure glad this is not the first hiro kit I built as I would have said “ no more” I also reshaped the front fenders at the wheel opening to center the tire/ wheel . I have only seen one mfh lusso kit built. Now I know why.
  19. Ok Perry, it’s going Nocchiola. This just hit me like a rock. Looks great, not the usual colors of a Ferrari, and I have never painted a model car this color , so it wins all around for me. Thank you for the picture. Maybe this weekend it will be painted.
