Well having life problems, garage door springs breaking, snowplow breaking, and a few other life problems I found time to polish the bumpers on the lusso. They are white metal the shape of bumpers and you have to sand , sand, sand, and polish them to a chrome finish. Holding them is the hard part. So far they look the part. The little ones under the headlights are in a bag , polished.

Myrtle Beach, SC m odel show and contest
Brudda replied to limodlr's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Love Myrtle Beach! I only visited there once when my son graduated from FT Jackson . Reminds me of Santa Cruz 40 years ago. Some places are a little run down but it gives it a special feeling of 40 years ago. Wouldn’t mind retiring there. Wish I could attend. -
WOW Art!!!!! Great job! Super fast corvette. Beautiful paint. Wheels, everything.Fantastic

So was I but decided to pull the trigger after I rode around the neighborhood. Nice thing is that you still can pedal with 5 levels of assistance or you can throttle your way back home. I have a really big battery because of ( what riders call range anxiety) . Do not want to run out of battery. So far my 10 miles I have 99 percent of my battery left. I can probably do a 40 mile run without any issues. And that’s enough for this guy.

Thank you Ray. I thought so too on the seat but it’s surprisingly comfortable. So far. Only went 10 miles on her then a snow storm hit. We now have a few inches of snow. Some YOUNG people will ride in it but I’m too old for that.

Well sir, just took it for a ride. I’m very impressed with the whole thing. The service before the sale was fantastic. The delivery was great. Fed ex did a great job . The assembly was easy. The ride is great. The quality of the bike is pretty good. No rattle’s or noise. Very solid. The bike really moves. It has a speed of 20 mph but you can unlock it and it will do 32 mph. The paint finish is really nice. So far I’m very happy with the whole experience. Oh ….and the throttle is great. If you get tired, just hit the throttle and you move . I live in a very hilly area and the bike has no problem going up hills. I was a little surprised at the acceleration up hill. The brakes are hydraulic and stops smooth and fast. Yes I’m impressed. I’m 67 years old and get a little tired on a regular bike. Be honest with you I just about died riding around the neighborhood with my regular bike. So I decided I need a little help. I did 6 months of research on e-bikes . I do not know everything but I do know a deal. And aventon was on sale so I had to do it and glad I did. Hope this helps.

Color sanding the body. 2000 grit wet and dry. Getting rid of the clear buildup on the door and trunk area. Rubbing the body out with a very fine compound from auto manic. First rub out. I will rub several more times to try to get a perfect as possible finish.

Thank you Greg. I understand about mfh kits. My friend and great model builder , Phil says it’s the most expensive scratch built kit ever. He is a national IPMS winner and great builder. He had built one and he said that’s it. I’ve had enough. I will build them but only the cars I really dreamed of in my childhood. I have built a few now so I understand the build. The instructions are like just a guide, and you have to really investigate the instructions. They are a really difficult build. When I built my 427 mfh cobra, it took a year to build it. I do build a 1/25 or 1/24 in between mfh kits just to get my wits back.

Just looked up what nocchiola translates into. Hazelnut. Makes sense. Just painted her and she came out great. Soon as she dries I’ll put the body on the chassis for a pic. And boy is she hazelnut.

Great job! I had a 1966 also. But vintage raced it so it had a few miles, great no nonsense cars. These cars made you feel great. Bought mine for $800 in 1979. Blown engine and crashed in the front. Fixed everything and owned it for many years. A dentist in San Francisco bought it and I soon learned what capital gains taxes were. Could have bought a very nice low mileage 66 Shelby GT350 for $10,000 in 1985. But passed it up. Oh well at least I had the very used one. Here is a pic of my real one. Great job on the model! You did a fantastic job on it. I love the red konis on your car.
