  1. Nice talking with you last night Chuck. I hope you were able to open the files I sent ya! My main computer took a big dump on me this morning and it needs to be replaced so I'm working off the laptop which doesn't have any of the Adobe products on it. I hope to be up and running in a couple of days. So far, I'm not liking this year much.
  2. Here's a link to Danny's incredible dio with a tutorial on how he does the brick work. I've yet to try it but it looks fairly easy just meticulous. www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35045
  3. That is really something to be proud of. The 'new things that didn't work out' were only for you. Looks like a great build to me. I'd be thrilled to show that on my shelf.
  4. Love the altereds and this one is no exception. Nicely done ! !
  5. Thanks guys. Chris, I appreciate the offer, we'll see how quickly the insurance company takes action on this.
  6. Dang nice ride there Darryl. I'm gonna need to build one of these and have a 57 vette that should be a good candidate. Thanks for posting.
  7. Nice looking project Niko. I'll be following this one. Speaking of rims, this Torino kit is to have the best looking Cragars SS rims. Niko, can you post a picture of them please? I'd like to see if they're as sharp as I've heard.
  8. Although I'm not going to NNL west, I look forward to meeting you and seeing some of your builds, little brother John. Love this build and can't wait to see it in person.
  9. Everything has stalled for the moment on this build as well as my Fiat altered because a couple of f***ing bozos broke into my garage and stole my airbrushing compressor along with a bunch of tools including my DeWalt compound miter saw. I can't seem to get anything done either on the bench or in the garage. This is so frustrating. What makes a thief believe he has the right to take another person's stuff? A thief is at the top of my list for a**holes.
  10. This is really looking top notch. So what's left to do before she heads off to the competition?
  11. The August 1962 issue of Hot Rod has a 4 page feature on Tony's roadster as well as it gracing the cover. If there's interest, I can scan and post them. If you're buiding this kit, this is great reference.
  12. Twenty years or so ago, I used to use Mr. Muscle Oven Cleaner in the green can for remaoving spray paint. Now I can't find it any where. This stuff was great but really powerful and you had to wear gloves or it would eat through your skin in no time. I know, it doesn't sound very pleasant but it really worked on spray paint.
  13. Ken needs to write another book...and make it digital.
  14. I think Danno built this fueler but not certain it was a JF.
  15. Oh man am I liking this. Cool idea to build it this way and you've done an amazing job on this, J2. I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished piece and how the PE grill works out. What red paint did you use on this? It's bright without being too much.
  16. These paint jobs are stunning. As for the above photo, I know the paint looks thick at the fenders, hood and cowl but I believe its the light source and its location because the vent holes in the cowl aren't filled in. I'd be most proud to display and one or all of the paint jobs.
  17. Completely and utterly stunning work, Ken. I'm speechless.
  18. Another beautiful aspect of these is they'll never need dusting.
  19. I really like that first pic. That would be a great candidate for a diorama, maybe just the fronts only about and inch or two deep as a wall hanger.
  20. I found a couple of detailed pictures online that demonstrates this better. Pretty cool innovation.
  21. Thanks for the explanation guys. When I first saw the photo of the engine, I couldn't figure the mounting position of the distributor either. I know I'm not 'up' on all of the new technology and products. Looks like it just needs a triangle shaped bracket to be correct. I'd really like to see one of these mounted up and in place. Guess I'll be 'Googling' through images.
  22. I went through all of your Fokti pictures and studied each and every one. I am totally blown away by the amount of planning, exquisite detail and painstaking effort put into this. All of this for a few arcade games? You're too much!! BTW - that is one of my favorite mini-scenes too. Just needs a few cobwebs. I've gotta get your book now.
  23. Just plain craziness there. I like it too. Bet it would be nuts to drive that thing.
  24. Been awhile since I checkin here Joe, and I'm liking your progress. About the typeface periods, try a different font. Some should be round while others are square.
  25. How did I miss this? Love all the detail and truly an inspirational build of a milestone dragster. Thanks for allow us to peer over your shoulder on this one.
