  1. Thanks Joe and Ray. I had such a great time building the carny truck. I have another similar type of build planned for the near future.
  2. There are some really great builds here. I can't let you guys have all the fun. Here's a few of mine. Carny Truck Carny Truck Interior Fiat Altered Let's keep this thread going. I'm sure there's more you guys can post.
  3. Nicely done so far. I really like the Willys gassers be it either a car or pick up. What tires did you use for this? This just might provide the inspiration I need to get mine done. I wish something would.
  4. Very cool crazy man. That round filler hole is called a bung hole.
  5. Yes, indeed cool videos. I wonder why Don didn't mention anything about the burgundy Austin looking vehicle? He described everything else.
  6. Well...the interior is complete as well as much as the engine will show from underneath because this is going to be a curbside and I'll glue the hood closed. Its going to be in a case up on a shelf so no need for an opening hood. Just waiting for decent enough weekend weather to lay down the first layer of white paint on the body. Hopefully this weekend I'll get that done.
  7. Amazing update. Not even the smallest detail misses your attention except that I think those last two photos are the same one.
  8. That would have been Hollywood Jim and having seen his "Making Memories" dio in person, I have to say its one of my favorite dioramas. There's a thread on here in this section.
  9. The outside pictures in the sun are amazing. The blurry background trees and structures make this look so real.
  10. Amazing and astounding results Richard. Love this whole build.
  11. Guess I've been hiding under a rock 'cause i just discovered this with the help of MasterCaster, who pointed me in the right direction. John - you definitely don't disappoint. This is such a stellar build so far. What a unique and interesting subject matter.
  12. Trying to finish up a build for my dad for Christmas. Once completed, I'll get back to this one. It has been calling my name lately.
  13. I'd like some of that dessert too.
  14. Those doors came out great Richard. Loving this dio. Remember, the bottom of the doors would be a bit more dirty from shoes and other stuff making contact with them.
  15. If a pic is worth 1K words, I don't think I can add to what's already been said. Friggin' fabulous bro.
  16. Well, this has not gone as well as planned. The Skyliner kit interior is deeper and wider than the Galaxie body and I'm running out of time to get this done. As much as I hate to do this, I'm going back to the Galaxie chassis and interior tub. I've been working on this steadily and have not come to this conclusion lightly. I did get the decals back and am so excited to get the body painted and get them applied. I'll post some progress pics in the near future.
  17. Phenomenal Work Darryl. Love it!!
  18. I have been following this from the beginning and have really enjoyed seeing this come together. One addition that I think would really set this off is a set of deer antlers either over the entry door or under the front Texaco sign where the square roof supports meet. I don't know of a kit that has these but with your fabrication talent, Richard, I know you could do a set justice. I envision this rural gas station in the north country on the outskirts of a small town.
  19. Nicely done Robert. It stands the test of time and garners an A++. Still looks the part. Love the orange with the tan interior and wood accents.
  20. I'll be watching your amazing progress as I'm building the '63 Galaxie driven by Tiny Lund in place of the injured Marvin Paunch for the Wood Brothers team. Really nice start and I especially like the gas filler area.
  21. Tom - I went through every photo on your Fotki site and I have to say - you NAILED it. Impressive craftsmanship and wonderful experimentation. I would like to know more about the gas pump ornaments you used. Who makes them?
  22. Dave - I'm highly impressed. From one artist to another...MAN you've got some talent. Don't ever put that pencil down.
  23. Sorry I'm just jumping in on this one Mike. The second go 'round on the chassis looks much better. This will be fun, as well as educational, to watch develop. Kudos to you. Have fun this weekend.
  24. I don't care how many views and/or posts it gets, I'm all over this one 'til its done.
  25. In referencing the Alclad colors on the plane pictures, I'd have to say the semi-matte aluminum would resemble the block color in the pic you posted Chris. Can't wait to see this engine come together. I've bitten off my nails many months ago.
