  1. Shot a little paint on the Madman '55 last night. Finished the roll cage and got excited about paint so here is the result. I think the body is going to be yellow like Badman. Thanks for looking.
  2. Getting ready to finish this one up, just waiting on foil, hopefully it will be here tomorrow. I still haven't opened up the bag of chrome yet and a few more decals to apply. Now is not the time to get in a hurry I keep telling myself. Thanks for looking and all the encouragement. A few more pictures.
  3. Thanks Richard, I've actually had this link for a couple of years but, thanks for sharing it with everyone else here. It comes in handy sometimes. I still can't pull up my first car, a '55 Chevy Del Ray 210, unless I pull up all the other models with it here. It would be like the yellow and white one only mine was red when I got it.
  4. Wow Carl, You have some neat stuff there! What a big traffic jam on the bridge and the truck coming out of the tunnel is neat. There is just too much to mention here but, you've got me wanting to build a helicopter now. They do take up a lot of real-estate like you said but, your dioramas are nice. Thanks for sharing them here.
  5. Jason, That is a beautiful case and something to be proud of on it's own. This could very well become a family heirloom some day. My wife would never allow me to bring something like that into the house to be honest. I use to restore old furniture thinking I would keep it forever, now everything is throw-away pretty much, I finally gave up. The Wife always seems to want something new. Is that the Big Deuce I see ? Always wanted one of those, I have the Big T waiting for me still in the box. We need some really big display cases if we are going that scale, I love them though.
  6. Hello Kitty rocks!!! My Niece and her three daughters would love this. She is one of the few family members who ever comments on my models. I'll have to show her this. Oh yeah, and my 6 year old Granddaughter will love it, she is working on her third model.
  7. I love the engine hauler idea, I may have to use that. The '34 is a kit to build over and over and I wouldn't limit it to just 3 ways. They look really good with a chopped top or fender-less. Nice job on your model.
  8. Love it!!!! Nice job on all the rust and weathering. I particularly like the battery box cover, the bed boards, and the shop towel gas cap, you've got to have that. Fantastic job on the model!!! I'm kind of with you on building a diorama, I'm sure we could find plenty of help on here if we would look for it. It almost seems like a whole different art form to me, like doll houses but, I guess if you include cars and trucks it could still be manly.
  9. I definitely like the colour. I love all '37 Fords. It looks like you are going the "Monster Truck / Car" route. It kind of reminds me of "Grave Digger" my favorite Monster Truck. I love the little scull on the front.
  10. Ed you have been holding back on us! Very cool!!! Dioramas would be the way to go if you have unlimited space. Here's a couple I have been adding to little by little. Let.s see some more dioramas! This could be a whole different thread. It seems like I have been working on that VW forever.
  11. I think we could furnish our entire house from IKEA. (Sometimes I think we have ). My favorite area is where they have the 300 or 500 square foot living spaces set up,I could live in one of those. If you are looking for family heirlooms this is not the place. It's what I would call throw-away furniture, use it once, throw it away. We do have our entire kitchen furnished from IKEA and my Daughter's kitchen. I talked her into assembling her own cabinets and she is really proud of them, I think. See, that's where teaching them to build models when they are young pays off! jbwelda, on 14 Feb 2013 - 01:00, said: i actually bloody hate Ikea: everytime i go there for one thing i see 10 things i cannot live without.
  12. To me, it looks like a normal size engine but, a mini car. I love it! The rust looks cool. It's not often you see a Model A grill used on a '32 Ford, it's usually the other way around, love that too. Nice Job!!!
  13. You are right Sir, that is too cool! I hope you continue to post pictures while you are cruising truck stops all over. Thanks for sharing.
  14. I wasn't going to buy any more kits but,.............. . This car is perfect for the "Gasser Look", I'm going to have to build at least two more. Man that engine looks huge! I'll be watching.
  15. I always wanted these http://commerce.idmi...&CI=405&PI=7814.......Thanks for all the comments and contributions. Seems like one of the bigger concerns is a dust free display and that's where the little single cases are nice. I haven't had too much problem with dust in the "Billys" but, it is a concern. I've been thinking of using the sticky back weather strips around the doors, as you can see in the picture there is a space. Part of this can be adjusted better but, I left it this way so I could put the locks on easier. This is just to keep little hands out. My goal was to get 100 models in each case. I do have that many models if I ever get them all built. Here's another picture showing the space between the doors. Thanks for looking.
  16. What did you do to my "T" ? No, just kidding but, I do have a yellow one with red wheels and whitewalls. Yours is really cool, I love all the details like the roof rack, the pickup bed and visor to name a few. Your diorama is also very cool. Nice job on all the weathering and I love the barrel.
  17. I know this topic has been discussed on here before, just wanted to revisit this subject. After a few attempts at making my own cases, I finally made a trip to IKEA and found some displays I liked way better than anything I could come up with. I know there are guys on here way more creative than I am so, show us what you've got! I use to like the single display cases you can stack but, you can only go so high with them and they keep getting more and more expensive to purchase. And you really can't see the models that great. The only thing I wish I had better is lighting and not the kind that get hot. I have mine lined up on one wall in my garage in what they call "Billy" book cases at IKEA. They also make the glass doors and extra shelving. So here they are. hope you like. Now let's see yours. Thanks for looking.
  18. Manny, How do you keep your paints from freezing and more important how do you stay warm in the winter months in an outdoor shed? I like the set up, just wondering if this is just a seasonable work area or do you try to keep climate control some how?
  19. Thanks Bob, I just hope I can get the BMF on without any major problems. My history is not good with this stuff but, with tips from the forum I am going to give it another try. Wish me luck, I will post pictures soon.
  20. Placed my first today, they have some neat stuff. i didn't know about the sale thanks for that information.
  21. Thanks Jim, I submitted an order today. They have some other neat stuff also I ordered. I finally gave up on LHS, no wonder so many of them are going out of business. I'm a patient man but, I want to get on with my project. Thanks again. Finished up interior last night, finally found my lost exhaust tip which was still in the bag. These things are so small and hard for these old eyes to see. It looks like the BMF will be the last finishing touch.
  22. What I thought was strange I only noticed about three cars from the mid '30s, all the rest were older. I figured there would have been more new cars, it appears to be around 1936. Thanks for sharing that with us Manny.
  23. This is going to be sweet! I love those headers, you went all out on those. Nice job so far.
  24. It looks cool but, it needs a motor if it's going to do a wheelie.
