  1. Good Stuff!!!! Keep 'em coming!
  2. I love to hear stories from our youth, thanks for sharing this one Bob.
  3. Nice Bob! Why did your Dad make you sell it or should I ask? My Dad didn't want me to have a car until I graduated from college. Unfortunately he died when I was 14 and I talked my Mom into letting me have my first car (to fix up) when I was 15.
  4. Nice!!! I really like the front end, the way it is looking, keep it going!
  5. Thanks Richard and Jim. I have battled with this stuff for years and truly feel this has been my first success. I may have wasted it some due to my past experience in cutting pieces too small and later throwing damaged sheets away due to non use and poor storage habits. I want to use it up fast and get some more! Keep it fresh! Thanks for you comments....... Looking back at this one today, I am not bragging about the perfect finish on the BMF, by far but, probably my best to date. This could still turn into one of my rust-buckets. When I was installing the windows I got a little glue on the paint. #$@%^%$# This is what happens when I get too confident.
  6. It looks good!!! I really like the interior shot with the lights. The only thing I would consider is making it BIGGER!!! They are never, never, never big enough in my opinion. Plenty of room for activity outside I guess. A friend of mine once said all you need is a garage big enough to work on one vehicle at a time, the rest can wait outside. It will be great for posing pictures of your projects. I have never finished one of my garages. I'll be looking forward to progress on this one, thanks for sharing.
  7. This is starting to hurt my eyes. I know, I wasted a lot on that piece.I see the finish line! What a great kit for a beginner! (With lack of much chrome.) As you can see, I used between 1/3 and 1/2 of the sheet, maybe I will get better on the next one but, I'm happy. If you haven't guessed, I did this yesterday while the forum was down. I think that is the only time I am getting anything done on my models. It took me about two hours, 3 cups of coffee, and 2 # 11 blades. And I am suffering from temporary blindness. It was fun, thanks for watching.
  8. Now to move to the windscreen, should be easy, right? Now the side trim, easy does it, this might be the first time I have BMF-ed a whole model!
  9. Okay, here we go with the Bare Metal Foil as promised. I've got a good feeling about this! Armed with plenty of new #11 blades and a bran new sheet of BMF, old T shirt, tooth picks, and mat board, I have read the directions at least 5 times and will follow to the letter. First piece;.Success!!!!
  10. This gave me an Idea! In the middle of the night I awoke and made this sketch. I didn't know this, thanks! I think you mean the IMC kit came with a Hemi. Here are the parts I got and yes that is a Hemi.A couple more pictures of mockup. Thanks for looking.
  11. Worked on it a little more but, now my list keeps growing again. Plus I don't think anyone is watching. Painted up a jack but, can't seem to get a good close-up. Made new spliter bars front and rear from aluminum rod.
  12. Great idea Tom, a good way to recycle. I used the AMT cases when they were about $3 each at Walmart years ago. I would buy them out about once a week. They got too expensive when they went up to about $10. Just got them back out after seeing Von Zipper's display above, think I have about 35 or so.
  13. I think the one below is pretty cool if we are talking models. We owned an '87 Lincoln Continental that was said to have over 200,000 miles on it when we got it, odometer was digital and quit working. The body was perfect and tight, it never used a drop of oil between changes, drove it several years replacing only the air bags, which helped it drive like a dream. It had really nice leather seats, 4-wheel discs and abs system, a very nice sound system, why did we trade it? Why? Why? And for a GO Metro that drove like a Pepsi can.
  14. I think this one looks great but, I think I understand how you feel. I know mine is a piece of you know what, if that can be of any encouragement, what I do is put it aside for a while and it always draw me back when I look at what everyone else is doing. I don't let it stop me from working on as many other projects as I feel I need. Nice work on yours, keep it going! And I still love this thread.
  15. I just refuse to let this one die until I finish this project. This was and still is my first community build project. I robbed some screen from my kitchen faucet for the cowl, stole some tail lights from the AMT '25 T kit, also where the headlights came from. Started a check off list for this one 7 or 8 things left to do. Here's some more pictures with my inspiration book. Hope to have it under glass soon. Thanks for looking once again.
  16. Christopher, These still look good and you have some very nice models. This is how I displayed mine a longtime ago but, they got harder and harder to find and more expensive. What I liked about them they are truly dust free and you can drill the little holes out in the bottom for wires to hold the models in place. Very nice collection, thanks for sharing.
  17. Thanks for the comments guys. Richard, I think you are right about the dull coat, just happen to be out of it at the moment. I just found some great reference photos for the engine on ebay motors. Too late for me but' I thought someone else could use them so, here you go.
  18. You did!!!! Thanks Jim, really, really appreciate it!
  19. Thanks for all the positive feedback. My order from Scale Dreams arrived today after only three days and in perfect condition, which is surprising considering my mail lady usually folds every thing in half to fit in the mailbox easier. The Bare Metal Foil is perfect so far thanks to excellent service from Scale Dreams. My days of visiting the local hobby shop may be over with gasoline at $3.78 a gallon and a 20 mile round trip. Total shipping on my order was $3.45. I already made three trips to LHS for my BMF that never came, and the owner has been in Washington D.C. at a hobby show all week. For some reason I have little spots of super glue all over my fingers so, I may hold off until that comes off before attempting the BMF. This gives me plenty of time to read the instructions over and over. Pictures coming soon!
  20. SWEET!!!!! Nice modifications, I like them all.
  21. Okay maybe this is over kill but, what the hay. Decided to get it down off the lift where it has been for quite a while. Started this one a while back from a glue bomb I got from a club member who knew I liked Volkswagons. I've been trying to decide on an engine for a while. Originally I was going to use a SBC but, couldn't find one in my parts I liked. So I modified the chassis some more today ( the white rod), and now this Hemi fits. Think I'm going to need some wheelie bars.
  22. The engine is looking good! That is some extreme work you are doing to get what you want, I admire that. Keep it going I'm really enjoying this build.
  23. When is Earl Shibe going to start offering this for $50? That is an amazing process, thanks for sharing the video.
  24. Manny you are a dedicated man. I get cold in my heated garage and move into the kitchen sometimes when the Wife is at work, where it is also too cold. She keeps it at 63 degrees, burr!!!
  25. I had to try that other forum for a while and never did figure it out but, it helped me cope. Please don't let this happen again if you can help it. I guess I didn't realize I was on here so much. It was like having the electricity off all day, how you keep turning the light switch on over and over.
