  1. If you mix one part gloss red and one part flat red you will get semi-gloss. You can change the proportions to change the sheen. In Testors square bottles the colors are pretty much the same, so mixing them won't change the color.
  2. The guy at my inspection station said to avoid the last week of the month, and the first week of the month. The last week is when all the people that wait to the last minute come in. The first week is when the people who wait until it's already too late come in.
  3. Hey Mike, I enjoyed following this thru your triumphs and (hinge) tribulations. It came out great. Perseverance does pay off!
  4. Thanks, Jake, Ray and Mike!
  5. I like a medium CA, Hold the pieces together, apply a drop or a bead, it bonds instantly. For laminating (gluing two sheets together face to face), any yellow wood glue, but it must be clamped and allowed to dry. For laminating curved forms, 30 minute epoxy.
  6. Thanks for that, it's way cool! Great cars, great commentary. Anybody else notice 27 cents a gallon for gas!
  7. If you would like to see pictures of almost every kind of wood in the world, check out this veneer site: http://www.certainlywood.com/woodmenu2.cfm?p=6
  8. The two tone looks good and I like the brush guard. Those wheels and tires look good too. How did you get rid of the door handle smears? Are you going to paint the body side moldings? Keep going!
  9. I've used Dullcoat and Model Master Gloss Lacquer over Testors enamels with no problems at all. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I've always airbrushed them.
  10. I will send you a PM and we can work this out. Edit: PM sent
  11. If the silver paint didn't go too deep into the green, you might be able to rub it out with some polishing compound. Just be careful not to rub all the way thru the green. If you decide to do rust or primer, definitely start with the top of the rear wheel arches. Mine and every one I've seen have rust there. Poor design on Ford's part. Carry on! I want to see it done!
  12. Very nice! How much you want for it? I need something to do my driveway with!
  13. I have them. I just finished that kit. Let me know how to get them to you.
  14. That's looking really good, Trevor. Keep it going!
  15. Absolutely gorgeous! Really nice job.
  16. Nice job! How much you asking for it?LOL. I really like that pintle hitch.
  17. Oh heck yeah! Just keeps getting better!
  18. Wait! This and "Pegasus"?! I'm going to wear out my mouse keeping up with all this. Oh well, I can handle it. Bring it, Ira, bring it!
  19. That school bus is amazing, Tom. How did you do the hood, fenders, etc.? I want to build a Loadstar 1600, and it looks like I will have to scratch the cab. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. As for the rest of the work shown in this thread- just incredible! I love seeing what you folks can do.
  20. Very nice work. A great replica of your reference truck. Well done.
  21. George, I strongly advise against drinking Ambroid! Seriously, it's not too great to breathe in either. It does work great, tho, and I'm having more and more trouble finding it these days.
  22. Ambroid is also methylene chloride (DCM). I have some Testors Liquid Cement which is MEK. My personal opinion is that the Ambroid works much better. Faster and a stronger bond.
  23. What are you doing with my Hobby Shop?! (See full name below)
