  1. Oh! I'm interested to see this one!
  2. There is one guy with a Detroit 8V71 Ford L on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5IvPgru12c This guy loves his old Ford! The Detroit sound awesome, as it should... As for your build, it's not the same hood length as on the AMT kit, it's a little longer. So you might want to do a little research for a hood that will allow you to fit that big V8. I know a correct resin hood exists that is similar to the one in the video, but don't remember who makes it. You could probably use an LTL hood from P&P resin (available!) But I'm not absolutely sure the LTL used the 8V71 for motivation though.
  3. Looks good with the new wheels.
  4. I like the factory GM paint scheme! It looks great. Nice detailing too! You're on the right track with this!
  5. Yep, like the load bars! I made some for my Volvo a while back, it really does add to the look! Really nice KW you have there!
  6. What's that Chuck, Moebius is supposed to get a smooth side reefer out sometime? That is nice!
  7. Impressive, but I would have difficulty not to get discouraged after all that work. But it IS looking great and definitely worth all that work! Nice going!
  8. An absolutely box-stock build (except for the wooden flooring and walls...) Those are fun to do! Your rig is really looking good, very nice job duplicating the box covers!
  9. When engineers are given a blank sheet of paper and they are told to make this thing the most possibly efficient, they usually end up with something that is quite "out there". That's why you see this Peterbilt more as a UFO than a truck. You will not see many examples of this truck on the road in the near future but you will see an evolution of it and you are already seeing a lot of aero-truck fleets already. When I saw my first KW T600 like 30 years ago I thought Whoa! This is different! Later, like 10 years ago, it was the same thing with the Volvo VN670 and 780 which were pretty much the extreme. What did you say when the KW T2000 came out? I said "Fugly!" myself and today we see more KW T700 and T680s. So these futuristic trucks are here already and the W900, 388-389 and other classics are on their way out, unless somebody thinks of something drastic to make them more efficient, but you would probably end up with another International Lonestar. Maybe that's the way to go for a more stylish rig? Or maybe a more conventional look will stick to the more heavy hauler types such as the newer Mack Titan. Time will tell.
  10. Those old Whites are almost as iconic as the Mack B... This is an excellent example of a classic. Gotta love the old green and red paint scheme, by itself a classic. Very very nice.
  11. Very convincing! Thanks for the tip on the exhaust shield and the cab seal. Nice to see a later model W900, I like it!
  12. Is that the KFS one? If so, there must be a bunch of people that requested it! That is good news!
  13. Very nice, I remember seeing the single headlight Freightliners as a kid and you pretty much nailed the look, nice job!
  14. Looks great as is already! What did you use for the exhaust shields? What about the seal between the cab and sleeper cab?
  15. Sure looks like you had fun with one JT! You have a signature in all your builds. There is some streamlining, equalization in the bodylines, some massiveness... In short, good looking rigs. I like the application of the snap Peterbilt stripes in this case. Nice job!
  16. Very nice up to now! Nice details on the frame, cab is nicely done, it does look like a W900L. What did you use for the longer front wheel studs? Probably hex rod stock, but for the rounded ends? Anyway, it's looking really good! Especially knowing which kit you started from!
  17. Another outstanding and realistic build! I haven't seen this one until today. The cab is straight and level, it has the right look. While I ususally don't pay much attention to these trucks, I am truly impressed by this one. You have one terrific fleet Jurgen!
  18. This is going to look great! Very nice work Pavel!
  19. Love it! Very nice with color! I can see it with all the trim, it'll be a really good looking W900L! Keep it up!
  20. That is rather unusual (for me anyway) That's the first time I've seen stacks in front of the sleeper cab on these trucks. Looks good!
  21. Like Nike says: Just do it! That is what makes this hobby fun, you can do whatever you want. Just take the time to look at pictures from the net as reference. If you want to put some plumbing under the hood to detail that engine even more, any chance the Cat might seem a bit small will be mostly hidden. As far as the fit, like Kostas said, it'll probably fit better than the kit Cummins. By the way I had plans for my own LTL kit, I want to install a Detroit 8V92T, so I'll be doing some measurments as well. Enjoy!
  22. I love it! You have it just right. If I may make a suggestion, the vertcal split on the side window on the top of the sleeper cab on newer models and also the one you are building is not there, looking at the picture of the white and blue truck I posted, it doesn't have it. But the work you are putting on this is really good, I like the mudflaps, the lower cab extensions look correct and that hood is just massive, it really looks like a W900L! Keep going at it! Have you decided on colors yet?
  23. This is looking pretty good! Nice job on that hood. I've been looking at doing something like this for a while. Now I think I know where to start and what to use! Good job! I'm going to follow this closely. Here is some inspiration, just to keep you on track...
