  1. That should look real good once all together!
  2. Thanks! The truck looks great on pictures taken outside! It's not perfect but I'm good showing it anyway. This rig is photogenic, take a picture at the right angle and it'll make you proud! The wheel kit I used came with the nuts and bolts you see there and also had the nut driver! That's 60 bolts I had to screw together, but I have to admit they look good.
  3. Thanks for the kind words! This was a challenging build as I had to cut down the frame, and get the right equipment on it, lower the cab and hood to get the right stance, make a working steer front axle from the kit parts. But in all it was a fun build with all the chopping and adjusting! learned a thing or two with this one for the next GMC General or Chevy Bison I'll build for the highway.
  4. This is going to be a museum piece!
  5. AMt Chevy Bison with a shortened frame, machined aluminum wheels decals from modeltruckin' and paper mudflaps.
  6. Thanks to all for the kind words, this was an "entertaining" build to say the least, also a challenging one as it HAD to go together and be a successful build! I'm happy it worked out!
  7. Actually yes they are from MCA and since you mention it, if I do remember correctly, so are the fuel tanks.
  8. Who says the Revell snap kits couldn't look good... Good looking job!
  9. GMC Astro, Detroit power, spokes all around! The decals went on great too! nice job!
  10. One of my favorite builds. Used 2 Revell W900A frames, AMT T600 cab and sleeper, P&P hood modified with rounded rearf fairing. Tons of metal parts from Auslowe, Moluminum and others, rear drive tires also from Moluminum. Flatbed is from Moebius, it has 3d printed ratchet straps, printed paper rear mud flaps, 3D printed jersey barriers, 3rd axle from another Moebius trailer kit. All aluminum wheels on the truck. scratch built headache rack and board holder on trailer. Fun build but took a while to produce.
  11. Thanks for the kinds words! This build took a lot of time to finish, I was having trouble with some plumbing under the cab preventing it from sitting level! Fixed the pipe from the exhaust manifold to the turbo and the shifter tower and all fell back into place. That was a challenging but rewarding build!
  12. Thanks! The bigger pictures will make every little mistake show up! I'm happy with this build, finally!
  13. Excellent build! Tons of realistic details!
  14. Clean build considering the wood flooring! I like that load too, though of doing something like this but never got to detailing the wooden boxes. Very nice! Very nice International in front of it by the way...
  15. Man, I didn't realise the pictures would come out this big...
  16. Wow, it's been a while since I posted anything here! Been busy with Facebook to be honest. I got to go through some pages and decided to post my latest. This is an AMT Chevy Titan from a few years back, not the latest issue. I wanted a steerable front axle and some fancier wheels, so I stole the whole suspension and drivetrain from a Transtar 4300. The rear suspension and axles are almost identical, you just have to sand off the IH logo. I wanted a dual axhaust setup and dual snorkels too, but didn,t like the kit's configuration, so I reversed the stacks on to make the mufflers face outwards and stole the filter and snokel from another Titan kit I have. I wanted the big grille front end and used the photo-etched parts from CTM inside and out. Pretty easy to use if you have the tools to bend the parts. The paint is Tamiya bright white and Scale finishes 1969 Chevrolet Glacier blue. I also replaced the 8V71 with an 8V92T to justify the exhaust setup. I lowered the cab about 3mm to make it sit properly and that made all kinds of interferences under the cab and turbo setup from the new engine so I had to redo the exhaust inlet pipe to the turbo and the intake pipe and the cab was glued onto its front hinges. The stripes are from the Smokey and the Bandit GMC General that I got from Modeltruckin. It was an up and down journey for this one but finished on a high note for me.
  17. Thank you!
  18. Auto Art makes opening cars with a type of resin. I have 5 of them and I'm pretty happy with this 'compromise' as these models are very nice, the details are crisp with a nice finish and the opening parts seem sturdy enough to be opened and closed more than just a couple times. So if instead the manufacturers would go this way, I'd continue collecting, if the regular full featured diecast (metal or plastic) disappear I'll stop collecting because I really dislike featureless static resin models.
  19. Man this is one super nice 67! The white paint and rally wheels makes it different from all the red and black cars, very nice! So excuse my ignorance on the topic of big scale cars, but I'm trying to figure out how to make red line tires. I'm planning to build a Monogram 'Vette similar to this one and one of the focal points on the outside will be the tires. if i could pull this off it would look so much better than a plain black tire.
  20. Try this: https://www.shapeways.com/shops/3d-model-specialties?section=1%2F12+Scale&s=0&page[number]=5&page[limit]=48&page[order]=asc
  21. After buying this kit in 2015 for a good price, about a month ago I finally decided to take on this big boy to see what I could do of it. I usually build 1/24 big rigs and thought I'd do something different this time. When I first opened the box, I was taken aback and closed it up again telling myself "What am I getting into!" You know what? it wasn't bad at all, after you get used to the sheer size of the parts i was ok with it. Just follow the instruction and use your common sense and everything will work just fine. I was amazed at how most things went together so nicely. The kit could be built right out of the box to a really nice result as the body is already painted from the factory a nice semi-gloss pearl white. Some of the plastic parts had mold swirl marks especially the dashboard and decided to paint the interior "hard" parts Tamiya flat black. I added some photo etched parts from a Tremonia fret that included disc brake faces, some engine parts like the throttle body grilles and some clamps. I also painted the suspension springs and brake calipers Tamiya bright red. I added carpeting to the interior by cutting and sticking self adhesive black velour. If I had to do it over I'd use flocking instead. This kit has 814 parts and all are well molded and fit together quite nicely. I'm happy with the result!
  22. Have I seen this correctly ? This GMC had an independent suspension up front??? Holy Moly, that's the first time I see this, I was flabbergasted when I saw Volvo trucks were using an independent setup. You're telling me GMC used that in the 60's with air ride?! Unreal!
