  1. This thing is looking so sweet. Go with the clear scoop one for sure. The pro mod style one is way too tall, not sure it would look better even if it was cut down. Awesome job though.
  2. Uh oh, I didnt see the date on that. Hopefully he will get back to me. Worse case scenario ill change the title and keep this a 1978.
  3. Thanks for the kind words. The bandit site is down or something right now. If you google search resin ford truck grille, it comes up that way. Im waiting on an email back from them so I can get that grille.
  4. Thanks for the kind words. The headers are from the 41 willys drag kit. No mods needed to make them fit except cutting out the inner fenders.
  5. This is my 1st truck project on the forum. It has to be one of my fav trucks of all time. The AMT Round2 re-release of the Firestone Ford F350 pickup. Will be taking this one over the top. So far Ive only been looking and ordering parts for this, the only work Ive done so far, is modify the bed so the wheel well opening is in the normal wheelbase position. I used a step by step process I found in the review section for this kit. Only the sectioning has been done so far, I have a lot of sanding, filling, sanding, priming, and sanding I have ahead of me but the look of the normal wheelbase is well worth it over the super camper special extended wheelbase look. This is where I am at. To give an idea of the direction of the project- 1st is I will be ordering a 74-77 style (hints the title) front grill assembly from Bandit resins, it will be 4x4, lifted, using 44" boggers, wheels, dana 60 front, dana 70 rear, springs, transfer case and possibly other parts from BNL resins. The power plant will be a twin turbo Cummins 12 valve and intercooler from Trailer Trash Kustoms. Im thinking of trying to scratch build a NV5600 6 speed trans for this as well. Will be a very ambitious project, but will be fun and totally different than what I have been doing, so it should keep me pretty interested.
  6. This should be the last update before this puppy is finally done. Made a throttle cable with firewall mount and installed it, made an Aeromotive style electric fuel pump, mount clamp, and plumbed it from the engine to the pump, also have the wires from it ran. lastly, is painted the fuel tank from the 41 willys kit, installed fittings, and made a mount for the front bumper. I will be installing this soon, along with the front grill, then will polish and it will be done. A few pics of progress. Thanks again for looking.
  7. I believe those firestones come in the revell pro street 67 chevelle, and the revell pro sportsman 57 chevy. The chevelle also has a 427 bbc with dual carbs and a 4 spd trans, the 57 has a "615" bbc with a lenco trans, more of a pro stock setup.
  8. That is so cool, and your bed mods look great. Just got mine the other day, im going the other way with it though. Lifted on big boggers with a 12v cummins and gonna correct the bed to normal longbed wheelbase. Keep up the good work. Did you just cut the bed in front of the wheel wells? Or in front and behind? I cant see a cut in the rear.
  9. Just received my kit of the re-release the other day, the tonneau cover is flat.
  10. Just got my 1st order from bnl. Im very impressed with the parts, very good quality, very minimal cleanup, and they are very styrene like. Will definitely be buying more from them.
  11. As the title states, im wondering if there is any late model aftermarket 8 lug wheels that is being casted? Aluminum alloy style like you would by from the local tire shops for the later model 3/4- 1 ton trucks. Any help is appreciated.
  12. Wow all of those look so amazing. Im curious if like a 18" or 19" tire is available in the aftermarket? If so it would be awesome to see some of youre wheel and tire packages in those sizes.
  13. That looks sick man, keep up the good work. Looks like theres gonna be a scoop on top of the cowl?
  14. I have a question also, was wondering what wire you use for the main harnesses throughout the chassis that are different colors. Do you use just fine detail wire? Ive heard of using the small wires out of like phone cord also.
  15. Thanks, its testors one coat lacquer mystic emerald.
  16. Started this quite a while ago, got part of the way through it and didn't really like the way some things fit, so it went in the box and in the closet. Decided to get it out and just deal with the issues and finish it. Got the cobra jet decals from a seller on ebay, can't remember the seller. Used the Shelby GTH and 07 GT500 kits to make this. Used the GTH body with the GT500 rear bumper, engine, interior and details. Modified the GTH front bumper, used a 70 boss 429 hood scoop and the 1/4 window vents from a 65 GT350 from my parts stash. Mostly built OOB and not heavily detailed, only made a roll cage, rear seat delete, dash mounted gauge cluster and tach, flocked the interior, full length open headers, coil on plug covers, and removed the battery from the engine bay to simulate it being in the trunk. Nascar style slicks, front skinnies and the wheels are from my parts stash. Anyway here is some pics of the build.
  17. Again been a while since an update, but I have been working on the fairlane, and almost have this one wrapped up. made a oil filter relocate setup and mounted it to the firewall, plumbed in lines from the engine to it. mounted the master cylinder and plumbed the brake lines (very hard to see). ran wires from the loom on the engine to the MSD unit on the firewall. installed all the windows, installed the interior and body onto the chassis for the last time and put on the taillight/ rear bumper assy. only have to make a fuel pump, plumb the fuel system from a front bumper mounted fuel tank to the engine, make a throttle cable and mount, then install the grille and front bumper. will be in under glass soon.
  18. Clocking means that you can set the intake and exhaust housings in whatever position or angle you need. I havent got a chance to use these turbos yet, so im not sure if theyre offered in a mirror image style, they may be exact copies of one another.
  19. Ive only used 1 set. They looked really nice on the sheet they come on. They are NOT white backed and are completely transparent though, pretty much meaning that you can only use them over white or really light colored paint, unless the decal is solid black. I put them over medium metallic green and could barely see them.
  20. Please let the lx hatch happen, that would be huge hit. Good luck and looking forward to it.
  21. This is so sweet, really realistic build and detailing. Where did you get the iroks from? And any idea about what size they scale out in 1:1?
  22. Hey Tyrone, any updates on the outlaw stang? Dont leave us hangin man lol and for that fact, the 68 camaro either, both have such huge potential and are so sweet already.
  23. That 3 valve comment is the best ive heard in a while haha. Looks like a cool project though, much love for the fox.
  24. That would be a sweet transkit, id build at least one. The 5.4 from the lightning is a 2 valve, sohc engine. Maybe could use the lightning block with the 99 cobra heads, then scratch build the intake manifold. Just an idea.
  25. Also have been working on the engine and have it nearly done, all wired and plumbed. scratch built a crank trigger setup, used a set of coil packs from a DOHC mustang kit, made an electric water pump, throttle control valve on the blower. plumbed the injectors and added fittings to the oil filter relocate housing. also wired the coil packs, water pump, and crank trigger through a wire loom and will connect to a MSD box on the firewall. This is the most detailing ive ever done, its not 100% correct, but its good enough for me and im having fun trying to go this far.
