Rustoleum Bright Coat Chrome
64SS350 replied to Plasticated Guy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Well, like all Rust-Oleum products, it comes out like you are using a garden hose. I found it to have a decent finish, and if I remember correctly it wasn't very durable. IMO... -
Is this still the..."What did you get today" section?

Here's the conversion kit for the GT 40X-1 roadster, will need lots of prep work, multiple pages of instruction with pics. -

I eyeballed the kit when he first listed it on eBay, wasn't sure about the detail. Recently he has listed a conversion for the GT 40, to the X-1 Roadster. Now that you listed his website, I somehow pulled the trigger on that one. Thanks for that!! LOL. I'll report on that one when it comes in. -
I believe I used a combination of a circular blade for the Dremel and back of a broken #11 blade. Certain scribers could be affective, finish with files and sandpaper

Over due update.... installed rain channels, fabbed rear hatch, lengthened frame, cut seats apart (lines on seat portion where muddled), hood scoop arrived and I customized that to fit, blending of the scoop is next. Started prepping the 3d printed BB,but they supplied a trani that's too small in scale. -
Easy to deal with, beautiful decals!! I haven't actually applied them, as the car is not built yet.

Thank you, probably going with 4wd chassis. -
Finally got one of these for an amazing price! I had realized, at some point, this was a curbside, but not that the undercarriage was cast metal and brass tubing. Very interesting.

68-72 Suburban scratch build
64SS350 replied to 64SS350's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
So I guess mine is a cross between a panel and a suburban...... Actually had two 1:1s in the family myself, but two young or not as interested back then. I thought the options were two or four doors, which I considered also. But I guess the panels only had two front doors. But if you look at the development/prototype photos, they show two or four doors. Thanks for the info. -

Well this is a two door, and as I stated, I planned on splitting the seat. I chose a center split. -

Changed direction a bit, chose front seats, made the rear two. After looking at these pics, I remembered I wanted/need to make the second row seat a split bench. Nothing a saw or scriber can't fix!! -

The more I looked at the roof, I had to change it. I restructured my jig and contoured it a bit more. Here's a good start to the interior tub, looking at the front panel, I may change that now too.
