Thought about doing this also. Look into Pro Mods! -
That's pretty cool. He said it was an old 3in1 with custom option, I hadn't seen one done like this before.

Got a few things today, some from a friend I met at a swap meet, GT from a dealer I know, Escalade from Michael's at 50% off and decals from a hobby store.

Would this work for foiling trim?
64SS350 replied to Hotrod 97's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Mainly depends on material thickness, needs to be micro thin to form to areas being trimmed. -
Yes, that's it

Has anyone used this for retro window tint?

Well after lots of mishaps/learning opportunities, I'm calling this done! Made it for our show today, not expecting a win, but showing for the owner and club build. Realized wherever these decals came from, they are not great, incorrect in several ways, and incomplete by far. Checking with new MCW owner here in town, he stated the decals may have been made for it. I will add pics to Under Glass section later. Thanks for all the comments!

After looking for the same thing myself and searching many of my kits, to find nothing adequate, I checked a few tutorials on here. From turnable straight axel, to springs, to shocks. I decided to scratch build everything. You check details of my progress in the build section..Flintstone Flyer II x3

Working on details, trying to get ready for our club show next weekend. I had to shorten the velocity stacks, make the catch cans, started making headlight bezels, and got it painted. Didn't come out as I wanted, had to wet sand everything. First pic is base coat, second is after clear

Spraying base coat urethane...Is sealer necessary?
64SS350 replied to crowe-t's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use Duplicolor primer, sometimes sealer, especially if I need a lighter shade. But as long as you have that auto grade barrier, you should be good. I also thin with lacquer, low end, not even medium. Just started using base/clear acrylic-enamel on this Stude project, looking forward to seeing the results. Wouldn't bother with the self etching, no need. -

Well, had a set back...I had to rebuild the motor mount and refinish the stacks. Mount broke and stacks were being annoying, plus wasn't completely happy with the finish. Got some plumbing and wiring done, also testing body color.
