  1. The engine was offered in 61-64 Impalas.
  2. As I was told,he chose the Stude because everyone was racing the Willys. The Lark is the same wheelbase as the Willys. Also, before anyone says anything, I know the disc brakes are not period correct, but I wanted them to show better. If he doesn't like them, I may have to change them to drum
  3. Progress already achieved
  4. Started building these in the winter, decided to get back into it. I am building, per request, three of the Studebakers for my friend who owns the car. Started with resin kits that required a lot of wall thinning and block sanding. I will be trying a couple different chassis to see which one I like best, depending on work required for each. So far starting with the Revell 55 Chevy. Other possibilities are a resin version with exhaust already deleted or a 57 Nomad chassis. I'm sure some have already built these, including the Outlaw Speedshop on You Tube, but I was asked to do them and decided to share the progress.
  5. Yes, he poured it for me while I was there
  6. I contacted him to look for the chassis to the Barracuda. Loved touring his resin shop. The wheel sets came from another guy near him. Makes some nice sets, many varieties.
  7. Visited a friend's shop Wednesday and brought home over 30 kits, misc. bodies, diorama items, and these...
  8. I used some vinyl top spray, from I believe testors, it has a texture to it
  9. Yes those are futureliners! One probably a replica of one of the originals, one may go custom and gray. The flatbed... custom... something.
  10. My disaster area, looking forward to cold weather (ONLY for the sake of building) to get back the bench.
  11. The main or only difference is the turn signal shape and location. The 71 had them also in the front bumper, but are rectangular, vs round in the 70. The 72 had rectangular, but they were moved to beside the grill in the vertical position.
  12. Two weeks ago, and Baja Beast yesterday
  13. Just be careful with those mats under your kit. I have experienced those to contain oils that bleed out. Wouldn't want it to ruin any part of your project.
  14. until
Going to try this show, will be set up with two tables, plus two others from our club, selling lots of kits and goodies.
  15. Unfortunately , mine looks the same. I wonder if it was mods to the original casting to make the Altered body.
  16. That should have dried in hours, and handle time maybe a couple of days. If it hasn't dried in a month, good chance it won't.
  17. Looks great! I like it!
  18. Do a 'side by side' with pic of a factory '67.
  19. Picked this up CPL weeks ago at a swap meet
  20. Scripts look very nice, looking forward to trying this, if I ever get time soon! But I think the cops might have something to say about your license plate
  21. I can see how the slicing of aluminum tube would work. That's where having a small lathe comes in handy
  22. Automotive grade primer, like Duplicolor. Clear should be acrylic enamel also to reduce any chance of problems. Best answers will come from Scalefinishes as to what they recommend for their paint.
  23. Doors open at 9AM, I have three tables of sale items. MCW Paint to be present at show. Come join the contest!
