  1. Has anyone used this for retro window tint?
  2. Same to you Eric, and good to put names and faces together with some others!
  3. Yes I did, thanks Steve.
  4. Thanks, but several months ago I would have said the same to someone else. Just experiment and watch builds others do for inspiration.
  5. Saturday early before our show...
  6. Well after lots of mishaps/learning opportunities, I'm calling this done! Made it for our show today, not expecting a win, but showing for the owner and club build. Realized wherever these decals came from, they are not great, incorrect in several ways, and incomplete by far. Checking with new MCW owner here in town, he stated the decals may have been made for it. I will add pics to Under Glass section later. Thanks for all the comments!
  7. There not as hard as you think, this gasser build has expanded my abilities beyond anything I've done before. But all the inspiration comes from guys on here!
  8. After looking for the same thing myself and searching many of my kits, to find nothing adequate, I checked a few tutorials on here. From turnable straight axel, to springs, to shocks. I decided to scratch build everything. You check details of my progress in the build section..Flintstone Flyer II x3
  9. Working on details, trying to get ready for our club show next weekend. I had to shorten the velocity stacks, make the catch cans, started making headlight bezels, and got it painted. Didn't come out as I wanted, had to wet sand everything. First pic is base coat, second is after clear
  10. I use Duplicolor primer, sometimes sealer, especially if I need a lighter shade. But as long as you have that auto grade barrier, you should be good. I also thin with lacquer, low end, not even medium. Just started using base/clear acrylic-enamel on this Stude project, looking forward to seeing the results. Wouldn't bother with the self etching, no need.
  11. Got most of the wiring and plumbing done on the Stude.
  12. Well, had a set back...I had to rebuild the motor mount and refinish the stacks. Mount broke and stacks were being annoying, plus wasn't completely happy with the finish. Got some plumbing and wiring done, also testing body color.
  13. Some assembly!
  14. I did get a few of the German issues as well, at a good price, but not that good. May get a few more myself, if they don't sell out too quickly.
  15. Today's update... Body completely in primer ready for wet sand, chassis ready for paint, some motor preassembly and plumbing, remade magneto, detail one was junk, also made shocks and mounts.
  16. I am curious, I started seeing that Motor Sports is coming out with a Revell Ford GT, how does this work that they put their name on the kit and re-box it? Is this made elsewhere to make it more accessible in the US?
  17. Got some engine assembly started so I could make the motor and trani mounts. Had to enlarge the trani hump and fill in the front frame rails to make them straighter and functional.I have been tweaking the body work and trying to figure out the grill. The kit 'grill' was an insert, and is incorrect. I will have to set it and blend it, then make actual grill insert. Have had trouble loading this update for a week or so. I found some mesh at show yesterday that will work for the grills. Also got driveshaft and traction bars made.
  18. Got my Ford GT, some mesh for the Stude projects, and some misc. items from Buckeye Scale Model Show. Also won a kit and an airbrush, after a friend left early and gave me his door prize tickets!
  19. Great idea! Nice clean lines it pulled from the kit.
  20. I have used the Bondo brand of spot filler or glazing, didn't seem too bad. But hobby brands, I use Squadron and sometimes Tamiya. Beware, the Tamiya shrinks.
