I searched all my kits to find no front springs I liked or of good quality. Found some from Australia, but a front end set up for one would cost $28 shipped. So I'm fabbing my own...

Doesn't the box just suck you in sometimes?

I found the Willys chassis to be too different and the ones given to me to use for that purpose are 1/25, where the bodies are in1/24. Finally got wheels and backs done, had a few issues to overcome. Mocked up the stance with finished wheels. Now getting springs and axles to work out. Would like to find a better set than the 55 kit, tinkering with making some.

Got this new chair last Saturday for my model bench. Tired of the bar chair set up, noticed where many of you had desks and chairs. So I lowered the bench to desk height. Way comfy now...got clearanced chair for $45.

My suggestions are to watch tutorials on here and check out builds in the 'On the Workbench' section. When I got back into building, these guys on here really changed how built models, great group, LOTS of talent! Don Yost also has a couple videos if you want to check out his methods.

Jeremy John/Clearly Scale?
64SS350 replied to brodie_83's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
If we would like to place an order for something, can we contact you? So he doesn't have to worry about an order, just take needed recovery time. Sorry also to hear about his condition, he will be prayed for. -
The guy who taught me how to paint years ago, has one of these, but a radio truck. Rough riding to go to work in I'll tell you.

Just found your build, looks amazing! Might have to attempt that someday, after my hundred or so other ideas. Love the look! Looking forward to the rest, keep it going!!

The engine was offered in 61-64 Impalas.

As I was told,he chose the Stude because everyone was racing the Willys. The Lark is the same wheelbase as the Willys. Also, before anyone says anything, I know the disc brakes are not period correct, but I wanted them to show better. If he doesn't like them, I may have to change them to drum

Started building these in the winter, decided to get back into it. I am building, per request, three of the Studebakers for my friend who owns the car. Started with resin kits that required a lot of wall thinning and block sanding. I will be trying a couple different chassis to see which one I like best, depending on work required for each. So far starting with the Revell 55 Chevy. Other possibilities are a resin version with exhaust already deleted or a 57 Nomad chassis. I'm sure some have already built these, including the Outlaw Speedshop on You Tube, but I was asked to do them and decided to share the progress.

I contacted him to look for the chassis to the Barracuda. Loved touring his resin shop. The wheel sets came from another guy near him. Makes some nice sets, many varieties.

Truck bed spray in bed liner
64SS350 replied to 665@213's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I used some vinyl top spray, from I believe testors, it has a texture to it -
Yes those are futureliners! One probably a replica of one of the originals, one may go custom and gray. The flatbed... custom... something.

My disaster area, looking forward to cold weather (ONLY for the sake of building) to get back the bench.

AMT Monte Carlo '70 conversion to '71
64SS350 replied to Sportabout's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The main or only difference is the turn signal shape and location. The 71 had them also in the front bumper, but are rectangular, vs round in the 70. The 72 had rectangular, but they were moved to beside the grill in the vertical position. -

Just be careful with those mats under your kit. I have experienced those to contain oils that bleed out. Wouldn't want it to ruin any part of your project.

AMT Chevy II Funny Car Body
64SS350 replied to Casey's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Unfortunately , mine looks the same. I wonder if it was mods to the original casting to make the Altered body.
