  1. I like this type
  2. Got this yesterday..Modelhaus '64 Comet
  3. Just below you in East Canton..BRRRRR
  4. Some work on the motor so far, decided to cut the interior for lack of detail, made some arm rests tonight.
  5. My 70 Cutlass dash
  6. Well this is going to be a rough year, try to get done what I can. Working on chassis, interior, and body work of the Cutlass.
  7. Honestly I am not impressed. Ordered two sets, a Yenko set and a Rat Vega set. The Yenko set had lines in that looked like knife lines, he said they were from an Alps printer that only printed in 1/2 in. strips, hence the lines, and they tore easily. Ended up trashing them. The Rat Vega set I haven't used yet, but when he cleared them, there is dust under the clear. Judge for yourself.
  8. Had a busy and bad week, this is it for about a week or so.. Always have several going at once, currently '70 Olds Cutlass Ralley 350
  9. I'm not sure what method you used, I used a Corian block and masked the body down, as Mark said above, over straighten the area, and a hair dryer on high. It took a couple times, as he also said, trial and hopefully no error
  10. How about something like plowboy said and/or combine a short Prostock scoop, but reversed..opening in rear.
  11. Well this is my first time building a Johan kit. Wow, these kits are a lot of work and don't offer a lot of detail. Here's a possible rim choice, and Modelhaus hood, also started painting the chassis
  12. Doesn't matter. still looks very cool!!
  13. Hobby Lobby(40% coupon), has a nice magnifier on weighted wheel stand, also I love my 4' small tube fluorescent light, much brighter than a standard size bulb.
  14. Thanks Gene, I am going to do some research and comparison to other kits to find out. The 442 was a 455ci engine, but the Ralley 350 that I will do carried a 350ci with around 310 hp, I believe it was called a 350 Rocket.
  15. Here's my '70 Olds
  16. I would say no on the bottles, the foam will melt away and over time the fumes from the thinner could easily work on the plastic lids. CLEAN the airbrush, use an airbrush cleaning set of brushes to remove paint from all areas, especially the tips, seats, etc.
  17. I even use the CA glue to fill some, it seals and fills. Also sands out pretty well.
  18. Well I'm going to commit with a 1970 Olds Cutlass Ralley 350. I was going to do a 78 Firebird, but since there is going to be a 77 in the race, I will scratch that and maybe enter a second entry, if time allows, later.
  19. Man, I better get mine figuered out, you guys keep taking my ideas from my available kits!
  20. Congrats Road Runner 79, well deserved!! Loved the Duster!
  21. For my two cents, I think anyone who votes should do so with the spirit of the race in mind. Not just vote because a build is really nice, but also one that would be the least likely to be pulled over, something durable, etc. I have my overall favorite, and no, it's neither of mine. No matter what, JUST KEEP IT FUN!! Can't wait for the info to start next years, thanks Nick for your many efforts!!
  22. Thanks, but you never know what might be under the hood, seat, cab?(LOL)
  23. The hauler is a Jada die cast
  24. Thanks to one and all, learned a LOT from the members here!
